LOL....Clinton showed up "out of shape"

Clinton Portis - RB - Redskins Free agent Clinton Portis reportedly showed up "incredibly out of shape" to his Friday workout with the Patriots.
Portis reportedly shed 25 pounds in two weeks leading up to the workout, so it sounds like he's been sitting on the couch all weekend. He "wasn't fit at all," according to the Boston Globe. Portis won't be signing anywhere soon.

Well, that's always how he rolled down here. When he was younger he could, sort of, get away with it. (Except that it hurt his performance during the first half of the season.) I'm guessing he's not terribly motivated to play anywhere else at this point.

Unfortunately - there are a lot of RBs that are very motivated to make a roster - CP is taking a risky chance here
He does not like to get ready to play - he's hoping that by the time he's in football shape some team is going to need him

I'm not sure he's ready to accept where he's at right now

Yeah, no doubt he probably sees himself on the elite level. He made some comment to that effect shortly before we let him go.

no worries - kind of the same 'thing' with Eli Manning
he thinks he's on the same level as Tom Brady

the ONLY similarity between those 2 is that they are both QBs
one is a great one - the other thinks he is

Clinton will probably get a call from the Cardinals.

Like I said - I'd love to see him playing somewhere

He's still able to help an offense .... he's just not near as good as he thinks he is

then again - we all feel that way

like the country song ... "I aint as good as I once was but I'm still as good as I ever was ... "

why would anyone give up players that can help this franchise for a crybaby that doesn't play as well as he can, and will not make much of a difference
ESPECIALLY at the most critical position

thankfully, we have guys running the show here that know which players and what type of players they need

Cardinals might even come calling on us to trade for one of our backs in our crowded backfield.

Well, the quickest way would probably be to lose his ego, but I doubt that'll be happening anytime soon.

A league source tells PFT that Clinton Portis worked out for the Dolphins today.

UPDATE: The Dolphins have announced the signing of a veteran running back who was once among the best in the league, but it’s not Portis. It’s Portis’s teammate on the Redskins last year, Larry Johnson.

Torain is a much better fit for this offense than Portis the tortus...maybe he could bring us someone we need in a trade?

Nice. UK loses one point for hitting below the belt (but WHAT a hit it was...)
