Terrell Pryor - Supplemental Draft Takers?

I am NOT a Terrell Pryor fan. But, I would not be opposed to the Redskins using a 6th Round Supplemental Draft Pick on him. I don't envision him being a starting QB. But, I do believe he could be used as a utility QB in order to manufacture some offense.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Shanahan uses a 6th rounder on Pryor if he is made eligible. After all, this is the same guy that drafted Maurice Clarett in the 3rd round.

You're on this one!

Aug. 09, 2011 2:53 p.m. - by John Keim - Redskins will watch Pryor's workout, report says
The Redskins will attend the workout for Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor on Friday, a team source told the Washington Examiner. Pryor is hoping to be declared eligible for the Aug. 17 supplemental draft. Redskins RapidReports

I would - I think they will do their due diligence and check him out but I doubt we use a pick

I doubt if they will get a chance. Someone will grab him at least in the 4th round.

I think it's a real wildcard. Someone like the Cowboys could take him with a #2 or he could be picked up with a #7 flyer. There are a lot of tradeoffs with him on and off the field. I will say as a Wolverine that he ended up not scaring me anywhere near all the hype when he went to the Buckeyes. We were beating ourselves, it wasn't Pryor. I'm not saying he's not a good quarterback, but I'm saying he's not all that and when you combine it with his off the field antics and question if his college game translates to the pros who knows how it'll go.

I don't think that he has much chance, if any, of making it in the NFL as a pure qb. But I could see a team using him the way the Steelers originally used Randel El or turning Pryor into a wide receiver.

That"s not how it works...

Instead, if a team wants a player in the supplemental draft, they submit a "bid" to the Commissioner with the round they would pick that player. If no other team places a bid on that player at an earlier spot, the team is awarded the player and has to give up an equivalent pick in the following year's draft

Basically they will determine what round he would be worth drafting in next year's draft and drop a level or two depending on their needs.

There is no draft order but ties are broken more or less like determining draft order...

First come the teams that had six or fewer wins last season, followed by non-playoff teams that had more than six wins, followed by the 12 playoff teams.

It's a one bid auction

He's listed at 235#. Kind of big for a WR.

He's 6'6 though, essentially the same size as Calvin Johnson, who is 6'5 236. I'm obviously not saying that he could be Calvin Johnson good, just point out that this size wouldn't necessarily bar him from trying to play wide receiver.

The Eagles should pick him up then - they love projects

then he could play against the Redskins 2 times a year and show us how BIG a mistake we made in not taking him

Terrelle Pryor will be in Monday’s supplemental draft

Terrelle Pryor finally has an answer: He’s eligible for the NFL supplemental draft. And with Pryor’s eligibility finally determined, the NFL has now scheduled the supplemental draft for Monday.

The NFL announced this morning that Pryor is eligible and set the date of the supplemental draft for Monday, August 22. The supplemental draft had previously been scheduled for Wednesday, but the NFL’s lengthy delay in determining whether Pryor would be eligible led to the whole thing being delayed, affecting not only Pryor but also the other players in this year’s supplemental draft: Western Carolina defensive back Torez Jones, Georgia running back Caleb King, Lindenwood defensive end Keenan Mace, North Carolina defensive end Mike McAdoo and Northern Illinois defensive back Tracy Wilson.

The NFL apparently wants Pryor to feel some pain for the problems In an odd twist on the NFL’s decision, Commissioner Roger Goodell determined that Pryor will be ineligible to practice or play in the first five weeks of the NFL regular season, although he will be allowed to play in what remains of the preseason.

Pryor will be inelible to play the first 5 games? If he is a QB only, he most likely will not play in the first 16 games. Politics in sports at its best. NFLPA, you are up.

My guess is he will NEVER make a roster.

this sounds like another great pick up for the Eagles - they should get him

the media will 'report' that this is more evidence that the Eagles are the most forward thinking franchise in the league - they will have a future star QB that cannot get hurt in the first 5 games

Nope.. I'd rather go with the 3 bums we have.

I voted you couldn't pay me... but really you could cause I'm broke.

I'd put a 6 on him. We have an additional 4th round pick coming in the Jason Campbell trade. If we adopt the same trade-back strategy we did this year, that 4th could easily become a 5th & 6th or some variation through a trade.

I'd take him because of his athleticism. He's 22. 6'6 and 235. He runs a 4.4. Playing some WR while serving as a developmental QB can't hurt. People forget that Anquan Boldin was a QB at FSU. And, he's not nearly the physical freak that Pryor is.

Either we get a freakish receiver. A developmental 3rd QB, or nothing. Sounds like par for the course for a 6th round pick.

ROTFALMAO - after last night, we now are looking a little better at the QB position

I'll bet that if certain teams take Pryor, (Eagles, Pats, etc..) the choice will be deemed to have been a "good pick"
If we (or a QB needy franchise) take him, we'll be made out like we have no clue - as usual
