Need some o lineman and Rbs

Need to sign Brown and possibly Heyer and bring in some more guys to compete on the oline. Would like to see some of the guys the Giants and Cowboys cut brought in for a look (Davis, Columbo, etc.) Flozell may be done since the Steelers cut him but could be worth a look too. Are we after Dahl in Atlanta?

What do you all think about bringing in Barber, Ricky Williams and/or Ronnie Brown for a look at RB?

I don't really see the risk if we can cut them if they don't pan out but I am not a CAPologist so may be missing something.

The offensive line has gotten better than last year, but we still need work there. One more stud, if we can find one, would make me feel a lot better.

We need a QB and a big WR threat before another RB, IMO. Our QB situation is giving me nightmares, and there is no end in sight.

I am blindly trusting the Shanahans on QB, but not overly confident.

We need to sign Brown, but as we all know, he is shopping and we won't over pay for a RT. we will have to wait until he is done shopping.

I believe that Hicks will take Heyer's role as replacement tackle. He actually started for an injured OT for the Vikings in 2009. As we have seen he can play guard as well. Though Heyer can play guard as we saw in the Titan's game he is doomed by the younger guys and the versatile guys like Lichtehsteiger, Montgomery, Erik Cook who can play also play guard. Then there is Clint Oldenburg and Selvish Capers at OT. I don't think that Heyer will be back.

It is quite possible that Shanny will give a look at the older released guys from other teams like he did with the old running backs last year, but these guys would need to agree to come at the veteran minimum. Except for signing a RT, I think that Shanny is done with the O line except if a guy who he has always liked gets released from another team.

Dahl was signed by the Rams which is why they released their starter Jacob Bell. I thought that we would go after a top tier guard as well.

Any running backs brought in would most likely be vet minimum guys. I don't think Brown, Williams and Barber fit that. Although, I would love to see Barber get his revenge on the Cowboys for releasing him. I assume you mean Marion. Tiki is not looking to just play one more year - No to him.

Yeah meant Marion. I think Ronnie Brown might be intriguing too. Guess it depends on how much trust Coach has in Williams and the kid from Nebraska. I do like what we have done so far. The team is being rebuilt.

We need more bodies at OL, DB & LB. I would also like to see competition at P, K & LS.

HELU could be the "sleeper" of camp.....

Remember that ShannyPlan finds Diamonds in the rough, when it comes to RBs.

Former West Virginia running back Noel Devine, signed by the Eagles on Tuesday, was released today

I really think that his success with various rbs in Denver was mostly related to the fact that they had good run blocking olines. Because if you look at his history in Denver, outside of Terrell Davis, none of the players really lasted for more than a couple of years.

I don't think RB is going to be a worry for us. I think that Helu guy could be a nice compliment to Torain (please stay healthy). As long as we can create holes in the line using our zone blocking scheme we will be able to sustain the running game. The one thing Shanny hasn't lost is the ability to find a RB to succeed in his system.

The Redskins could be making a run at Ahmad Bradshaw

Just saw that Nik. Hoping that we just stay out of the RB market. I think making sure we're set up on the o-line and bring in possibly another corner for camp at least is our area's of need.

I'll take 2 years from a good/solid back...hopefully that's what Helu can become.

Grabbing a vet RB would mean the team is leaning toward a run first scheme. Considering the QBs on the roster that wouldn't be a bad thing

Gotta agree. Torain is injury prone, the rest are unproven. Getting a starting Qb at this point is virtually impossible, we need a solid running game.

And we need backs that can pick up the blitz.... No CP means the best we have is K Williams, that's not going to cut it

I'm torn. While it appears obvious that the quality and depth at Rb is questionable, I'm not sure there's a free agent RB that would make the team much better. Given the extra cost of decent free agent RB, I'm not sure it would be a good move.

Torian looked really good when healthy. Keiland Williams is developing nicely as a 3rd down, pass blocking, pass receiving complement. we have two draft picks that sound very intriguing. If we sign a free agent, like Bradshaw, it means no reps for either of the rookies. I think I'd rather take my chances on Torain's health and give Keiland and the rookies a chance to show what they can do.

Still $12M+ under the cap... cost not really a issue and the roster is 17 players short of the 90 man limit.

Any talk about adding RB w/o finding at least 3 more OL capable of starting is simple silly.

OL makes a RB...

No OL, no running game. Ig you have a good to great OL and you could go down to Wawa and find a RB.

Sure the OL impacts the passing game, but not near as much as the running game!

See the Colts and Cards for proof.

"at least OL capable of starting" is what's silly. We need at this point a guard and a tackle and we're improved over last year. And as Nik pointed out we need a RB who can pick up blitzes. Even more so as we work on the line.

I agree that we need a rb capable of picking up blitzes, but I don't just want OL that is better than the joke we had last year. I want an OL that a reasonable person could expect it to end up being at least average and preferably good. Right now we have backups at LG through RT and we have no depth at LT or RT. I would prefer we pick up a starting LG, C, RT, and some one to push the RG we just picked up, and a backup at Both OT spots.

I would feel OK if we just added the RT and LG as long as we added some depth too. Our OL needed four new starters going into the start of FA. We have added one and he is marginal. Sure Montgomery MIGHT be an upgrade over Rabach, but really, how many team's could he start on!

Why did we have to just get bye at OL, why couldn't we take this rare opportunity to dramatically improve it? Lets say we add a RT and LG, we still will have a below average line.

The worst thing is, I bet they don't add any more starters except at RT. If they do, it will be another marginal guy like the Raven they added at RG.
