Nice pick up. Has size, speed and good hands. Get's open.

I guess Jeremy Jarmon didn't have a place in the new DL rotation, but what a waste of a 3rd round pick. Jabar Gaffney isn't terrible though.

2010 stats with Broncos:

65 catches
875 yards
2 TDs
13.5 avg

He'll be 31 in December, but with Stallworth and rooks, gives the WR position a lot of depth.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Broncos have agreed to trade Jabar Gaffney to the Redskins in exchange for DE Jeremy Jarmon.

It's a sensible trade for both sides. Jarmon didn't have a spot in the Redskins' 3-4 defense, and Gaffney's snaps figured to decrease significant with fewer three-wide sets under John Fox. The Broncos are also high on 2010 third-rounder Eric Decker, who figures to compete with Eddie Royal for a starting job. Gaffney will likely play the slot for the Redskins, where he'll be a fantasy afterthought.

I like reading the words Redskins and sensible in the same sentence.

So my question is this. What do we think will be the WR rotation?

1. Moss
2. Stallworth
3. Gaffney
4. Armstong
5. Kelly - if he stays healthy

Nice trade. Give up a player who doesn't fit for a player who does. I wouldn't get excited about the WR corps at this point though. Keeping Moss, adding Stallworth and Gaffney is like having a collection of #2 and #3 WR'S. It's not going to scare any defenses.

I find it tough to get excited about trading away a 23 year old player for a 30 year old, but it seems that Jarmon wasn't going to fit into the 3-4 scheme, and Gaffney could be serviceable. So, we've traded away a 23 year with upside who probably wouldn't be given much chance to contribute for an average 30 year wide receiver who might just make it on to the opening day roster.

Not excited, but not disgusted either!

Add Braylon Edwards to #1 and shift everyone down.

I'd give Hankerson the nod before Kelly.

You don't think any of the rookies are going to make it?!

I think that the roster size was increased so we can have most likely 7 or 8 WR's on the roster instead of the normal 5-6.

No way anyone could rationalize BE over Tana as a #1.
This is how I would hope the depth chart works out:
Moss
AAA
Hankerson
Stallworth
Gaffney, Kelly, or any of our other young WR

I really hope the addition of Stallworth and Gaffney mean they aren't going to give this tam a BE.

I would be happy if neither Stallworth nor Gaffney make the roster and even happier of they don't talk to BE again.

No way!!!
AA starts. Stallworth may not make the roster.
1) Moss
2) AA
3) Gaffney
4) Hank

after that a free for all.

As it stands now I would agree with that. Doubt a big splash is going to happen now that we've signed eighty mediocre receivers

Gafney - 6 foot 2 inches? That is tall by Redskin standards.

There will definitely be competition at receiver this year. Shanny loves competition. Maybe somebody will be studying more film and practicing route running more as a result of these three receiver signings.

Glad for Jarmon. He was probably better suited as a 4-3 end.

My sentiments as well. I really liked Jarmon but he didn't fit into where we were headed. I can't be thrilled, but it's reasonable.

Gaffney will be a great fit in washington. He's 6'2", 200lbs. He only had 4 drops and 0 fumbles last year. He had a career high 65 catches. He likely would have had many more catches, but the broncos switched to Tebow and a more run oriented offense. He's also durable. Just what we need! a bigger target, possession receiver, with good hands and dependable.

I think a lot is going to happen between now and September, so it is really difficult to say, but one thing I believe is for certain: Stallworth will not be our #2. If he is, we are in big trouble.

+1

I'll add Kelly, if he doesn't cut himself shaving

Maybe a year off to fully recover will end up being the best thing for him. I wouldn't bet my house on it, but it's possible.
