party deck......more like keep the consecutive sellout streak alive by removing seats....

I'm ok with them moving out seats if it widens the remaining seats. When you have to wear a fluffy warmer coat in the winter, you can't sit in those seats unless your real skinny (not me by far). LOL
.. Not mad @ Danny for doing this either.. a lil change is good for us in the area who always find someting to complain about. Rain outside? Danny's fault. Flat tire? Danny's fault. My coke just finished? Danny's fault.

Exactly. Man, I would be pissed if I had seats in that section. You go from having your own seat to standing room only.

How about a new stadium. In DC would be nice. Tear down RFK and build something that could bring a Superbowl & some Final Fours to the Nation's Capitol.

Lofty hopes, but with the money he's putting into the stadium, I'm assuming (yes, it's me

) he plans on using this one for awhile.

And you assume right, Vet
For instance, any substantive negotiations by the Skins to relocate to D.C. before their stadium lease expires in 2027 carries potential for injunctions and other time-consuming legal impediments brought by Prince George’s County and the state of Maryland. Knowing that any deal with D.C. contains that caveat, Snyder would have more incentive to explore his options right where the team plays currently. Maryland's stadium authority has already built two stadiums on receipts from specially-created lotteries, and the NFL currently supplements the stadium financing packages of their teams to a degree.

My biggest problem with FedEx Field?
Lack of security. I've been to two Eagles games. I hated every minute. I flew up for the MNF game last season. There was an Eagles fan in our section screaming obscenities and challenging Redskin fans to fights. The woman next to me got up to look for an usher. Obviously could not find one. Went to the next section over finally, they said they'd send security, and (this was still early game) that security never came. Some usher showed up in the third quarter and when told about the problem told the person I was with, “I can’t do anything about that” ….. To put that level of BS into perspective, I've been to five or six Redskins games in Dallas and would hands down rather be around those people than a Redskins game against the Eagles. I’ve had one actual issue(drunk Cowboy fan next to me getting vulgar) and not only did an usher come talk to his friend to calm him down and cut him off but they apologized to me profusely and told me where else to find ushers/security if it continued to be a problem. Imagine a drunk visiting fan at a Caps or Nationals game pulling that crap… They’d be gone pretty fast.
So much bull crap. I love the Redskins and have been a Redskins fan my whole life, but geez. Going to a game at FedEx Field and seeing the Redskins total disregard for the fans challenged my fanhood more than single loss, blowout, stupid signing, etc ever could.
I'm not a DC native. A trip to FedEx these days during football season means I miss a couple days of college classes, a big plane ticket, and overpriced lower level tickets. But the Redskins can't even address idiots.
But they will sell me a chair apparently. Yay.

I was at that Philly game too and it was a total joke. Fights everywhere and security is just taking its good ol' time getting to them. You would think out of all the games there would be clearly visible security at an Eagles game but it was the complete opposite.

Agreed. The lack of security is absurd. The other problem is that more and more you get real morons (and I'm referring to our fans) going to games. I was at the presason game against the Pats in 2009 and there was a Pats fan, probably 50 years old or so, walking through the upper deck concourse. Out of nowhere, some hammered Skins fan just walks up to him and from behind throws a punch at the guy's head and just walks away. Luckily he didn't land the punch squarely, but as usual no security anywhere to do anything about it. I'm all for tailgating and drinking during games, but it seems like it's gotten to a pretty insane level at FedEx the last few years. I don't have kids yet, but if I did I'd think twice about taking them to a Skins game, at least in the upper deck.

Totally understandable.. but its gone now. We've only had Fedex for quite a bit of time now. Not @ you obviuosly Welch but people have been complaining about it for so long that it doesn't even make sense.
If you don't like it, just stay home and watch TV. I never had any problems @ Fedex myself.

So, because I can find fault in a stadium, I shouldn't go...
Brilliant.

Well, your complainin like its gonna change.. either tuff it out or sthu and do something bout it.
Imagine ur complainin bout lack of security cause another team fans talkin crap. Your whole row may have done something if you addressed him if you were that tired of it that you'd complain about it here. In stadium CONSTRUCTION thread.
FYI.. ALL Eagles/Skins game will be like that, on their part, and also on our part so maybe its better for you to skip that one.. maybe do a bucs/rams/lions game.. more peaceful atmosphere.

I think what LPJ means is that if the expeience at FedEx is something that you don't like then you can choose to not go
If you go and get treated badly (as you expected) - you're entitled to bitch but you did choose to go, nobody made you
I don't like FedEx - I used to really enjoy games at RFK
there are a lot of things about the FedEx experience that I have an issue with but I still attend the odd home game

I hate the security at FedEx. It is a well known problem. Many, many people on many Redskins forums say as much. Many people on TheHogs.net have made the same observation in this very thread.
I never said I dislike FedEx Field as a whole. If I didn't like going to Redskins home games, why have I flown in for multiple games?

we all agree - I think all that is being pointed out is that you choose to go DESPITE the 'problems'
you paid and you're entitled to share the experience and bitch or praise all you want
no worries - maybe the next time will be better ... or not

Well, like I tell many people who cry about lack of security.. either you handle it yourself, or go home and cry on THN about it.
Me, I'll handle it myself because that's my home stadium and I'll fight for my home turf. Simple... and if security wants to come all late and harass me, I'm 95% sure my row will stand up for me, like I've done many times for others myself.
.. or you could just leave the stadium during the game, complain outside to a cop or security, and go catch the flight back home and tell everyone how sad you were because there was no security to snitch too.

I've been to a 1/2 dozen games and had no problems. Of course, I don't expect the same bahavior at a football game that I do at a symphony, either.
If I were to have a problem, I think LPJ and I would see eye to eye

I don't go to a Washington Redskins game for it to be some battle of my manhood. I go to enjoy a sporting event with my favorite team playing the best of all games. I'd rather be watching a play than having to turn around and remind some idiot Eagles fan that he's not in the glorified piss break between New York and DC.
You're just throwing crap at a wall if you're trying to question my toughness since I like to watch sports without major distractions. If that is the direction you want to go, go right ahead. I'm not going to get into a pissing contest on an internet message board.

Sadly two of the three Redskin home games I've been to were against the Eagles. The third game was a much, much better experience. I've been to a lot of Caps and Nats games and I am sure the issues are similar with the Flyers and Phillies. I just wish the stadium management for atleast the 'Skins and Nats would learn from history and prepare for epic waves of trash fans filling the stadium.
Have I mentioned I hate Philadephia sports in every way? They're the LSU of professional sports. You watch their fans and you truly wonder how that city could have a functional society.

Anywaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays... BACK TO THE THREAD
Glad they're adding the decks, I only wish they would make the seats more spacious.. especially in wintertime with the big coats and such. I wonder how many people would want to be in that deck area?

Fedex To Use Solar Power?
LANDOVER, Md. (AP)—The Washington Redskins are going solar.
"The team announced Wednesday that solar power panels will be in place at FedEx Field and in the stadium’s parking lot this September. The system will provide a portion of the stadium’s electricity on game days and all of its electricity on non-game days."
