'Skins' players train, wait by RICH CAMPBELL
No team workouts will take place until late next month at the earliest, Alexander said. In the meantime, players are continuing their normal offseason routines.

Left tackle Trent Williams is in Houston working out several times a week with a group of former University of Oklahoma teammates highlighted by Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson.

"I don't think nobody's doing anything different," Williams said. "You're basically just working with your trainer a little bit longer until the lockout ends. We're doing everything that correlates to football, just being ready, trying to be the best you can be."

Kicker Graham Gano has bounced between Florida and Northern Virginia, training regularly along the way. This is the first offseason in three years that he's been healthy, and he has taken advantage by gaining almost 10 pounds of muscle.

The lockout "is frustrating," Gano said. "Hopefully they'll figure it out all soon. You'd like to be working out with the guys at the facility, but that's not going to stop me from getting my lifts in."

Redskins players planning “mini-mini camp”

If you wondered which Redskins players would be in charge of gathering up the troops for some informal lockout run-throughs, you now have your answer.

“I talked to London Fletcher.; we’re planning a workout date, at a possibility of [Ashburn’s] Briar Woods High School,” Cooley said. “We’ll get teammates, not just me and London Fletcher; we’re gonna get pads and hit. We’ll probably have 20 or 30 guys work out. It’s a mini-mini camp.”

Cooley didn’t have a date, but other players are already aware of the mini-mini camp. Brian Orakpo, for example, told Comcast SportsNet’s Chick Hernandez that he was hoping to fill the role of Jim Haslett during the session.

good to see rak taking the reigns on d. i kinda wish there was more than 20-30 guys attending...30-40 sounds better to me. only 20 show you wont even be able to run a full team session. just being a little critical...work hard boys

I can't imagine this will be more than an hour walk through of sorts. Really pretty meaningless as far as a workout or concepts go. What I think it does do is build some chemistry. Maybe they go out after practice, movie, or bowling, or a bar, get in fight, whatever.
