I am a new member. I have looked at this site for the last couple of years, but was apart of extreme-skins. However today I terminated my allegiance there and thrown it here. I find the fans and moderators much more knowledgeable. Thanks for letting me join. For the record I find extreme skins to be too controlling to where you can't speak your mind. They have to be the only site to support redskins players such as Albert haynesworth, Lavar Arrington and Clinton Portis. I prefer character players such as London Fletcher, Chris

ey, Brian Orakpo and Santana Moss. I like guys who do there job and play hard and don;t run their teams, fans and coaches into the ground.
I had to get that off my chest.
Thanks.

Welcome to the site kidwell. Let me be the first to warn you that this site has it's share of people who have no idea what they are talking about. You can spot them right away if you just watch who I argue with
Hail

It's always great to have new people to argue with. Just try to stay away from redskins fanatic... you'll find out why on your own soon enough.

This is a great site. We have all kinds of view points and the best part is we all don't have the same opinions!

Welcome! I just want to admit though that I know jack about football and spout off continuously about it anyway.
You're right though, this is a pretty good site and the conversations are always fun to follow. I'm always impressed by the couple of guys on here who seem to really know their stuff about the salary cap. They are either incredibly smart or the biggest football nerds I have ever come across.

Thnaks guys for the warm welcome. I love hte Skins and have been a fan for 25 years. I miss the days of the old gang, but hopefully Shanny and Bruce can build this thing the right way. Smart young veterans and through the draft. I have enjoyed watching Lavar, Portis and others leave this team. No More Vinny and hail to the Redskins!
For the record 8-8 or 9-7. This was going to be a 2-5 year project.

you guys are funny. I can;t wait till we have real news like the draft and free agency. I'm looking forward to this team getting younger. It will be nice to finally see our teams with young guys who want it. I feel for Bruce and Shanny because they have to completely rebuild the culture that was destroyed by Danny qand Vinny. I think Danny has learned his lesson in that high pricey free agents and scrapping the draft doesn't work.
Thoughts?

That is probably because extreme skins is owned by Dan Snyder. I have heard that a good deal of anti-Snyder posts are deleted and posters are banned. I actually know someone that was banned for posting anti-snyder stuff on the site. I have no clue why anyone would post on a site that it owned, operated, and edited directly by a company controlled by the owner.
I totally agree with you on the character guys. I have no idea why anyone would support AH.
Regardless, welcome to the board.

It's a much different place off-season, than it is in-season, though.

To me this is more important than talent - by a long shot. For far too long we have impatiently gone after veteran talent by trading draft picks and buying FAs after their "contract year" thinking we were "close" and worrying about sucking if and while we took the time to get young. Ironically, we've sucked anyway ... for a long time.

Times are changing
MS said...
“That’s not our job, to talk to them about lockouts and strikes or whatever. The natural leaders on our team will take care of that,” Shanahan said before adding that he expects players to be in shape whenever the lockout is resolved. “If these guys don’t take the initiative, then I’ve got the wrong guys on the football team to start with."
After he had said...
"I was in the league in ‘84 and you never thought free agency,” Shanahan recalled. “You were always pointing toward the draft because you couldn’t get other players and trades were uncommon. So it was football. And then you had the draft, and then your football team was ready. People forget that free agency hasn’t been here all that long.
“I think it is going to be different for everybody that’s been involved since [the start of free agency] than where the draft is first,” Shanahan added. “... I think [this offseason] most people, since they can’t fill any voids [with free agency], they’ll draft the best player available.”
