They don't have Carolina getting a QB? I find that hard to believe unless they already have something in the works for a free agent? Weird

Carolina drafted Clausen last year. They would've taken Luck, since he is an absolute stud, but I doubt they are going to draft another qb with Luck returning back to school.

Maybe they trade down. I also can't imagine them not taking a quarterback

Quinn spent the year showing why he fell to the second round. I do think they'll take a QB, but not necessarily with the first pick. With DL being at the top of the board they should be able to drop and still get the first choice of QB's.

I highly doubt Carolina moves out of the #1 pick. Bowers and Fairley are studs. Would be crazy to pass up a chance to take either one of them.

You could be right. But the argument they wouldn't take a QB because of Quinn isn't right

Gabbert seems like a fat Jeff George!

Seems like Mallett can make all the throws now.

Of course, we need 2 lines.

IMO, drafting Newton in the first rd would be a big mistake because the cost is to much. Waiting until rd 3 and draft Pat Devlin would be a better choice.

If we draft Cam at #10 I'll support him. But I'm with you that I'd be nervous. I hope if we draft a QB we're pretty darned sure because I am afraid they'd be a bust and we'd be losing out on a very good player at another position

I think we end up with Gabbert. Newton is all of the sudden the sexy pick...

But we don't have a 3rd (or 4th) round pick

The consensus of the mocks I've seen is that we're getting Julio Jones. Cam is falling out of the limelight and I've even seen him rated as the #3 QB in the draft now.

I'd be very happy with Julio Jones, especially after the type of performance he put on at the Combine even though he had a broken bone in his foot.

I atched a highlight film on him. He doesn't look like he gets lazy with the YAC. He's got incredible combine stats. Only hit on him I've heard is that he gets the dropsies on occasion, but I like this guy.

Pointless comparison.

IMO - predicting Cam Newton will be a part of this franchise is a "good news", "bad news" deal

The "bad" is that this would be another bad mistake by our FO - I just don't think they're taking a chance like that

The "good" is that predicting Cam Newton will be a part of this franchise is just that and it will not happen

Nothing intelligent to add I take it?
