...it just may be the last NFL football played for a long time. Things are going forward, there's talk about free agency and the draft. A bunch of college seniors are declaring for the draft. But I'm wondering why there really isn't that much concern over the impending train wreck. I see no give in either side, the owners are saying they have to cut costs and the players are giving no indication that's going to happen. They only meet occiasionally to discuss the shape of the negotiating table. The last time I saw this large a difference in sides was the NHL before the season that was never played. I'm usually an optimist, but I'm not seeing any reason to think this one isn't going to be really long and ugly.

Neither side wants a work stoppage. The owners will get an 18 game season and a rookie wage scale (though the players want that too), but the players, minus the rookies, will still get a huge chunk of the overall cash. I think the owners will cave if the negotiations really get tough.

 ... annnnnnnnnnnnnd... if we did, we'd be the ONLY team with 4 SBs (hence my hatred for GB to win this year)
