The games to be Hognosticated are:
Saturday, January 15
Baltimore at Pittsburg
Green Bay at Atlanta
Sunday, January 16
Seattle at Chicago
New York at New England
Visiting teams have to get their picks in first, and every player needs to give a total score for the weekend (that's all four games combined). The tie-breaker rule is the closest to the actual point total. It does not matter if you go over or not (this isn't The Price Is Right).
Visiting picks are due by Thursday, 9:00 PM EST.
Good luck, and happy Hognosticating.

Perhaps. But, not this year.
Ravens
Falcons
Bears
Patriots
171...
See, you have the Ravens and Falcons wrong... and, fortunately, defenses win championships.
Your score is way too high... I think they'll average between 35 and 40, sooooooo... Home team advantage, baby.

I'm with CT; no way do they score that many points in this round. Last week was thrown off by the 36-41 game the Saints and Seahawks played. The other three games were each less than 40 points. The defenses are too good in this round for the scores to get that high again.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!!
The Pats alone will drop 52 on the Jets, after Hefty Rexy opened his pie hole.
thanks for handing me the win, Countertrey!

Nice try. Belichick will just look to win the game. You should know that he's not going to let a conceited thug, such as the Spawn of Buddy, get under his skin.
Beyond that, there are several very powerful defenses playing this weekend. Average score will be between 35 and 40 (and, I think that may be high).
So, if it's some sort of "moral" victory you want... well, you're welcome, Bro.
... but, the win in the game will be mine.

I don't think you quite get the home field advantage thing.

I am tempted to pick Atlanta but you are handing it to me with the high point spread. So, I feel no need to risk wins/losses.
I will stick to your picks with a lower total score only.
Pittsburgh
Green Bay
Chicago
New England
173 Points

Think about this... you'll have Pittsburgh and Baltimore putting defensive sleeper holds on each other all game long. I wouldn't be surprised to see that score in the mid to low 20's. Then, there's Seattle and Chicago... yeah... some offensive dynamos there.
New England and the Jets? Defense, defense, defense decides this game.
That leaves Green Bay and Atlanta to run up the score...
Not happening. I'm thinking actual total score is in the 140-160 range.

I'm expecting Pit v. Bal to be a low scoring game 25-30 pts.
Last time Sea and Chi played there were 43 points, I'm expecting 35-40 there.
NYJ v. NE games have an AVG of 45 pts. this season, but with the way NE offense has been clicking, I can see this game easily putting up 50-55 pts if the Jets can score.
GB v. ATL should be a high scoring game; both usually have good offenses. GB will have to score to keep up, and I think they will. 55-60 pts.
I'm looking at a bare minimum of 160 points, but I think we'll see more than that. 170 seems like a good number, but I still like my odds at 174.

I think you're good too. The Ravens have been able to put up some points. Brady is on a roll and their D has been a bit suspect at times, so the Jets will go down but not get blanked. The Falcons and Packers won't be 54-51, but with Atlanta's O they will score some points and the Packers are going to have to open up a bit to counter. Seattle and the Bears will help a bit even if it's not a big score. The other games won't need to make up much for them.

I did not know that last week's combination of teams and scores were going to apply to this week as well.
My bad *
* resigned to his humiliating loss

don't sweat it, RiC... there are clearly two camps here:
1. those who know that in the playoffs, it is defense that moves teams forward... and,
2. those who will be watching the division championship round next week instead of participating.

I think you're good too. ...
The proof is in the pudding We'll see your numbers soon.
Somehow, I am liking your opponents chances if you stick to it.
Hey but that is why teams play the game and we play ours. We have our reasons and you have yours. In the end .... it comes down to gameplanning on both sides of each game.
Good preparation on one or both sides of each game = low scoring.
Bad preparation on one or both sides of each game = high scoring.
I think good defenses will prepare well.
Ah! On Brady and his "clicking" ... I do suspect that he will get banged around enough not to have a stellar performance. Jets will play AGAINST him in their game plan and he has been rattled this season.
So ... if you go with Teeter, chances are you are going down.
Let's see your picks and total score.

It seems like D's were suspect late in the year and O's were doing better though. No one really had a shut down D. And teams like Baltimore were starting to score more points as well. Now they'll be playing better O's and be more pressured to score more points.
