Just learned that Rex Grossman is starting over McNabb Sun in Dallas; I'm told Redskins Lockeroom is divided and guys are extremely upset

If true this is just plain stupid. Nobody believes Rex Grossman gives the Redskins the best chance to win the game. No one, including the egomaniacal head coach. It would also be a surprise to Kyle Shanahan, who stated just yesterday that McNabb was starting.

one good thing about starting Grossman is that we will have a decent back-up QB available

Based on our current record, we're looking at the #8 pick. I also know that Shanny (Sr.) said that this is an evaluation period from here on out. I think that maybe Shanny is playing Grossman this week to evaluate him as a backup for next year. Best case scenario is that we lose and better our draft position.

R - U - N?????

McNabb has had his issues, but even a situation where you're trying to evaluate Grossman makes no sense. McNabb is coming off his first multi TD/no INT game of the season and seems to be picking up the offense. Starting Grossman all but guarantees that McNabb won't be with the Skins next season.

According to sources McNabb was full go in practice on Thursday so this would make absolutely no sense if true.

I don't either. I think what happened is that Kyle worked with Grossman in Houston and has a false sense that he's a better QB then he is. JC showed how good a quarterback can be in practice and just not have it in game time. The game is just played at a different speed no matter how hard you try.

If Grossman does light it up, make us forget McNabb, and is our starter the next half dozen years then I'll be the first to post that I was just flat out wrong. But if it happens I'm just flat out wrong.

And if I'm right, I hope that Kyle learns from this screw up because he needs to start getting more realistic about who he can depend on and that guy's initials are DM and not RG.

Really talking about JC???

Aren't the lowly Raiders playing for a playoff spot right now behind JC at QB. Goes to show you what he can do with a little protection, decent WR's and a good running game. Oh, but wait, it's his fault for the state the Skins are in right now.

As for McNabb - I don't get it either but I think that they really don't plan on moving forward with McNabb unless they draft a rookie QB to learn under him.

Cats out of the bag now. I will go ahead and put in my two cents:

Jason Campbell SUUUUUCKS!!!!

I like Jason Campbell, but from what I've seen of the Raiders' success this year it looks like they've mostly got McFadden running wild on everybody. You're right though about him playing behind a much better o-line no doubt.

Regarding McNabb, do this move have anything to do with the compensation we owe the Eagles? I can't remember how that worked, but I thought it was like we would owe them a certain pick based on how much he played this year. Does anybody know how that deal worked?

They will get our 4th instead of our 3rd. What's nice is that the Jammal Brown trade now nets us the Saints 5th back, because they will get the 3rd the Smeagols don't.

The Raiders are winning because of their ground game, not because JC is some great QB. He still has the same deficiencies he had here. I wish the pick we got from the Raiders were dependant on their record, though.

I don't think anyone knows the exact perimeters of the deal but it was based off performance, playing time, etc. Either way, I think we're going to owe them the 3rd because he's played most of the season but his stat's are terrible:

6th in yards, 25th rating, 26th TD-Int ratio, 27th comp.%.

Haven't posted here for a while(hopefully I stick around), but recent events have brought me back.

I have seen horrible things this year. I've managed to watch every game on TV. That's been painful. I took a big trip to DC for Monday Night Football. I sat through every terrible minute of that. That was excruciating. I was all pumped up for my 6th straight trip to see the Redskins-Cowboys game in Dallas. And now Rex Grossman will be starting.

Someone please pump me up. For once, I feel numb as a Redskins fan.

I understand the idea of clearing house and building for the future and I'm the biggest Shanahan supporter out there, but I need to be pumped up for watching us play the surging Dallas Cowboys as we limp to the finish line and will likely have Rex Grossman at QB.

Side note on McNabbs contract extension - we can cut him up the the first regular season game and not own him any money. Just food for thought.

So you chastise me for bringing up JC with something I didn't say, didn't mean, and don't think. Wow, I'm smarting from that....

I honestly don't care anymore...I've never seen a team collapse so badly after a bye week. That bye week came and gone and these guys actually got a whole lot worse IMO.

I'll watch the game and root for my Skins, and whoever is their starting QB on Sunday; just like always. Whether its Rex "The Sex Cannon" Grossman or McNoober, and I'll just be happy that it isn't Mark Brunell in there.

Shannahan has just lost the respect of the locker room. For a guy trying to rebuild a team, he sure loves making drama. I guess this guarentees that McNabb wont be here next year. Instead of not resigning him to an extension and getting a supplimental pick, now we cut him and let him walk.

This FO is cursed, bring in new ppl and stupid decisions are still made. Shannahan appears he is doing things just to prove to the team that he can do it, this makes no sense at all.
