The contract dispute between the man who invented the linebacker position, LaVar Arrington, and the team that is fortunate enough to have him in uniform, the Washington Redskins, might be the best thing that could happen to both of them.
Is Loverro on crack? Arrington "invented" the LB position? I'm an Arrington fan...but this is such crap! The guy hasn't even played to his full potential at LB yet and he's saying he invented the position?
I guess he forgot all about L.T. or that R. Lewis guy in Baltimore.
Come on! That ruined the credibility of the writer right out of the gate for me!

I agree the owner should not interact with the players i hope gibbs keeps that relationship professional between owner and player.

I think Loverro was trying to be sarcastic in calling Arrington Mr. Linebacker... His point being until LA produces, he should keep his ego in check.
I did love the line about Snyder wanting to sniff jocks and Arrington wanting to sniff the money.
I'm anxious to see what Gregg Williams can do with Lavar. If LA is a willing pupil, he can be as effective as Wilbur Marshall was in the 46 defense for the Bears, or Derrick Thomas for the Chiefs. LA has miles to go before he reaches LT status.

lets not forget Dick Butkus... One of the real men who played linebacker... Sure LT knocked out Theismann, but people lost count of how many Butkus knocked unconcious
Arrington is good, but as a person who has been very biased towards linebackers, he isn't good enough yet to call himself anything close to the best...
