Being in Australia may have lessened the pain for me at least

it is what it is - we are and never were a very good team and have been badly exposed twice this season

this current situation is not that big of a deal, really - there are many here who are so out of touch and thought that we were turning things around, way too quickly

WE ARE COMING OFF A 4-12 SEASON - we are not going to be competitive until we can replace all the old geezers on the offensiive line and find some depth PLUS get ourselves a decent RB & WR - and that's on offense

we also need a lot of help along the defensive line - PLEASE

SkinsJock, your points are well said. I applaud you for remaining optimistic for 8-8 or even 9-7, but I only see maybe 2 more wins starting with asn upset at the Titans. Look, we are last in the league in 3rd down conversions and last in the league in yardage given up. going 4-3 for the last seven is a huge reach. Sure the turnover battle win a game or two (Titans is one) and an excellent defensive game plan (first eagle game ) might win another. I will say 7-9 because I am like you, I want to see the positives of this team. Next year their will be a lot of new faces - faces with a Shanahan work ethic.

Well, I dont know if they added unicorns and leprechauns all over your TV there in Australia, but it was a complete disaster everywhere else in the world.

Shameful game....glad I didn't watch it as I was at Winter Graduation for the kids at school...

I watched highlights....ah mean lowlights.

If McNabb was benched in Detroit for a poor performance then Haslett needs to be fired for that 1st quarter.

On offense our problems are well known. We have a talent deficiency and a lot of people hurt. On defense our performances this year have been inexcusable. Sure we need to refit the DL for a 3-4, but the defense is giving up too many yards and too many points.

I think sticking with Jason Campbell and building a team around him would've been a great resolution to an effective and potent offense. However, seeing how we've now acquired McNabb for more money and time (extended contract) I guess the prudent thing to say is "Let's make it work with him".

How?...

O-LINE: Great pass protection where none exists; is there anyone on this line that can block? Is there anyone on this line that can open up a hole for our substitute RBs?

WR: Moss and Galloway are fossils. NON-EXISTANT in my books. Perhaps McNabb could play one heck of a game if he had some real weapons at his disposal. Hmmmmm.

RB: Well, I have to say that the sidelines is a good place for Portis. In my opinion he should be replaced with a fresh rookie. His ability to play this position has seriously diminished. His clock has almost wound down, so to speak.

TE: A better effort catching the ball would be nice. As great a TE as Chris ey is, his health continues to be questionable.

D-LINE: A little bit of pass-pressure would be nice. I'd like to see Albert Haynesworth contribute to this line on a full time basis. He really is a solid player, when he's healthy.

This season, teams have been taking advantage of our defensive secondary, throwing at will. I think Philly did a great job exposing what this pathetic fallacy of a defense really is. Fortunately, for the common good, I refuse to say what I'm thinking at this point. Could it be the grave lack of youth on this team that contributes to horrible losses, such as this one to Philly, or does someone within the realm of the coaching staff need to start looking for another job soon?

The good news...

I think as a long-time dedicated Redskins fan, I need to look at the positive side of things... THAT'S RIGHT! POSITIVE!

Believe it or not, there is a glowing light at the end of this miserable dark and dingy tunnel. I do strongly believe that with Mike Shanahan at the helm, it's only a matter of time before he finally puts a great team together, piece by piece. Let's just hope most of us have the strength and courage to be patient...

Yeah, they showed this on TV, since the confrontation led to a full-team scuffle. I got a very bad feeling about it when I saw that it all started with Landry and DeSean Jackson. Something told me it was going to come back to bite us.

Funny, I don't see McNabb blowing JC out of the water. You can speculate and guess all you want, but we're still dismal with all these 'intangibles' people keep bringing up. All those 'intangibles' still have us at 4-5. And you cannot prove that JC would be doing worse, but I'm sure some idiot will drum up a fictional story 'proving' otherwise.

Aside from Mr 'Intangible', our offense isn't the largest problem. Playcalling on both sides of the ball is. These guys are still NFL players. With the right leadership, they could and have played better. It starts at the top. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to give me the number of their dealer.

In order to do what's right and take the "TEAR DOWN & REBUILD" approach, this team would have to pay the one thing it has shown in 11 seasons that it is unwilling to pay:

The price of time and patience.

The time needed to set up this franchise for a long-term run at playoff berths, division titles, all that.

The willingness to come out and say to all Redskins fans "Bear with us. This might take a while."

(Leonsis learned that lesson in 3 seasons. Now see what's come of it)

The incessant going-nowhere quest for the quick fix hasn't borne any fruit and it ain't looking too promising for the near future.

Is it just me or is this whole idea of a 3-4 defense absolutley LUDICROUS?

This season, teams have been taking advantage of our defensive secondary, throwing at will. I think Philly did a great job exposing what this pathetic fallacy of a defense really is. Fortunately, for the common good, I refuse to say what I'm thinking at this point. Could it be the grave lack of youth on this team that contributes to horrible losses, such as this one to Philly, or does someone within the realm of the coaching staff need to start looking for another job soon?

The good news...

I think as a long-time dedicated Redskins fan, I need to look at the positive side of things... THAT'S RIGHT! POSITIVE!

Believe it or not, there is a glowing light at the end of this miserable dark and dingy tunnel. I do strongly believe that with Mike Shanahan at the helm, it's only a matter of time before he finally puts a great team together, piece by piece. Let's just hope most of us have the strength and courage to be patient...

Funny, I don't see McNabb blowing JC out of the water. You can speculate and guess all you want, but we're still dismal with all these 'intangibles' people keep bringing up. All those 'intangibles' still have us at 4-5. And you cannot prove that JC would be doing worse, but I'm sure some idiot will drum up a fictional story 'proving' otherwise.

Aside from Mr 'Intangible', our offense isn't the largest problem. Playcalling on both sides of the ball is. These guys are still NFL players. With the right leadership, they could and have played better. It starts at the top. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to give me the number of their dealer.

Can I prove Donovan is blowing JC out of the water right now? hmm let's see, no. I don't think anyone can. However he doesn't play for this team and I do not think I am the only person sick of hearing about him. We just signed McNabb to a 5 year deal and people are mentioning JC like he is going to come rescue this team or if he were here we would be on this magical run to the playoffs. Oh, and drop the flagrant personal attack BS Vet. Not only do I not care about your feelings but you bring it upon yourself in just about every post you make.

QB: I was never a big fan of Donovan McNabb. All of those years watching him play in Philly, he always seemed like an under achiever. I think sticking with Jason Campbell and building a team around him would've been a great resolution to an effective and potent offense. O-LINE: Great pass protection where none exists; is there anyone on this line that can block? Is there anyone on this line that can open up a hole for our substitute RBs?

WR: Moss and Galloway are fossils. NON-EXISTANT in my books. Perhaps McNabb could play one heck of a game if he had some real weapons at his disposal. Hmmmmm.

RB: Well, I have to say that the sidelines is a good place for Portis. In my opinion he should be replaced with a fresh rookie. His ability to play this position has seriously diminished. His clock has almost wound down, so to speak.

TE: A better effort catching the ball would be nice. As great a TE as Chris ey is, his health continues to be questionable.

The other side of the ball...

D-LINE: A little bit of pass-pressure would be nice. I'd like to see Albert Haynesworth contribute to this line on a full time basis. He really is a solid player, when he's healthy.

LB: Not much to say here except thank god for London Fletcher!

CB/FS/SS: Is there anyone besides Laron Landry that can play this position effectively? Is there anyone in this secondary that can cover a WR, provide solid tackling or pick a ball off in the air?

Hogette brought up JC and you commented on it way before I did. And I've never once said JC should come back. Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing. Maybe one day you'll achieve it.
