The ESPN Crew just threw Mike and Jr. under the bus.

And I agree completely with them.

Are we cursed? I thought Allen/Shanahan was the answer. Now it looks like this whole thing might blow up.

We have lost to the Rams and Lions but have beaten everyone we've played in the NFC East, Green Bay, and Chicago

Why in the world do you bench your QB with a chance to win the game and then continue to lie and make things worse during the week?

Unbelieveable

Because Dmac isn't doing what they want him to do.. Run the right play correctly... NOT throw an int w 3mins away from a W. You know simple stuff

I've had a difficult time with what we've been hearing, but there's no way I'd agree with anyone who thinks that it's 100% the Shanahans' fault, or anyone who thinks that they don't know what they're doing.

So I guess I don't agree with the "ESPN Crew" . . . even though I'm not terribly happy with Mike and Kyle.

Well in a dispute I never agree 100% with either side but I would like to see Mikes 12 year old son adjust a little to the pro bowler he is coaching instead of expecting McNabb to do all the adjusting

Old news the Skins had the week off and the ESPN crew hasn't actually worked in years

I agree with this. No one side is the only one at fault. Could McNabb have played better the past few games, hitting wide open receivers, make better decisions, and not throwing it into the ground? Yes. And did Shanahan make a stupid decision and completely mishandle the situation? Yes. But I think a lot of the responsibility lies with Kyle Shanahan. He needs to adjust his playcalling, no doubt. He needs to adjust to the talent (or lack thereof) that he has. He can't call these deep pass plays that take forever to develop when he doesn't have much talent at WR and the worst o-line in the game. At least give McNabb a chance back there.

And anyone that watched ESPN this morning knows that they made some really good points. Ditka, who I respect, said that the coach has to take responsibility if his QB doesn't know the playbook by week 8. He's right. Jackson made a good point by saying that the situation is irreconcilable and he is also right.

The ESPN crew is an entertainment package that doesn't actually have to do anything - Mike & co have to make it work on the field and i think i know who knows more about how to get it done and is willing to put it on the line each week - the ESPN guys are just second guessers and "Monday morning QBs"

love our coach and players - love the ESPN guys too - they are both winners but one is real and the other is just "entertainment"

Everybody needs to take a chill pill!!!! We are 4-4 which is a heck of a lot better than last year. Didn't most of us predict a 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 season? We can't expect father and son to fix the mess that Vinny and Zorn left us in one off season. Right now we have a lot of holes especially on the Oline. Could they have handled the McNabb situation better? Yes but you know the media reports what they are told and then ESPN sits at their table and yaps like those dumb chicks on The View. We don't know what is actually truely going on behind the scenes, but I know that Shanny and Co. are working their @sses off right now trying to fix everything so lets hope the offense can improve and the D keeps forcing TOs. The bye is over and the real part of the season begins so the team can wipe the slate clean and hopefully go at least 6-2 and make the playoffs. If that happens I doubt if anybody will even remember McNabb got benched except for him  BTW all you bums at ESPN(besides Boomer of course) this ones for you :moon: HTTR Lets kick some Iggle but and put Vick on a choke collar!!!!

Who cares about ESPN and their views? I don't. It is an entertainment circus anyway.

We will learn much about our team next weekend. I know the Team appreciates the importance of THIS win. I am not worried. We will put a competitive team on the field and there is too much bad blood among them PHILTHIES and us.

People often forget that their first name is ENTERTAINMENT... as in Entertainment and Sports Programming Network.

I have no problem with the benching. I just wish they would own it. I believed them at first when they said they had spoken to donovan before hand. I do think that was the case.

I just dont like how he they then tried to back out of what they said and spin things. Just give it to us straight. If you be honest with me Ill back you either way.

I have no problem with McNabb being taken out of the game - I think it was an absolutely terrible decision because Grossman was not ready and I think they (Mike & Kyle) should have known that - I understand that they were hoping for Grossman to get VERY lucky and maybe pull off a miraculous victory - not happening

I think it was a terrible decision only because they should have known better than anyone that could not happen because Grossman is not capable of doing that

btw - Grossman would not IMO be the starting QB here this week no matter how well he played - McNabb was never in danger of losing his job - this was just a spur of the moment, stupid mistake, bad decision

that being said, the really terrible decision was compounded by what happened afterwards - this was major screw up and placed their thinking and decision making at the center of a major cause for concern as to their viability

anyway - hopefully the players and the coaches are focused on what they need to do to get a win this week while the rest of us come up with incredible scenarios and ideas that are even more stupid (and unfounded decisions on why this all happened and what it means) than the original stupid idea to try Grossman at QB at that time

AND all this had to happen with a bye week ahead to boot

I'm looking forward to getting this stupid nightmare behind us & having Mike, Kyle & Donovan show everybody that it was just a stupid decision at that time

So true - thanks!!!

I'm so sick of people spazzing out over every loss and every mistake. Go back and look at the posts after we lost to the Rams a couple weeks ago. Its a freaking embarrassment.

Serve up a plate of nachos, a six pack of your favorite brew and just enjoy watching a team that has been competitive in every game they've played this season.

fact is the "decision" was bad but the "decision" and the "words about the decision" leave a lot to be desired and to some just seem out of character

to those with any sort of anti agenda (about McNabb or the new FO or the coaches) this became like chum in the water to a pack of great whites

we all need to see it for what it was and move on but there are many that are not going to let it go

IMO - we just need to win this next game
