What they are saying

The Bears fans are very down on their team, most of them predicting a blowout. One guy even says "This blowout will start the Skins to the Superbowl talks".
Most of them talk about how bad their pass defense and pass protection is. They say McNabb should be able to throw slants all day, as Hasselback did last week. Torain is going to have a tough time running the ball though since they do have one of the top run defenses in the league.
Hopefully we can dial up the pressure against their O Line like teams have the last 2 weeks. We NEED Orakpo to have a huge day, Im thinking 4 sacks (like OAK last yr).
Whats everyones thoughts on this game?
MODS - The other skins/bears posts had to deal with tailgaiting and not the game. If I missed one sorry and please merge this one. Thanks!

Chicago is 4 - 2 and at the top of their division. This is not going to be a gimme game regardless of what their fans say.

I think we are better than Chicago, who has had a fluke of a good start to the year. If the team that played in 5 of our six games shows up, we should win. If the Skins team that showed up for the Rams game plays . . . well, then I don't think we'll be so lucky.

I completely agree w/Irn-Bru on this one. If we play the way we've played against Dallas, GreenBay, Indy, Houston & Philly. The Bears don't stand a chance. I think the Bears have gotten really lucky this year (but hey a "W" is "W"). I think Torain does have a good game though.

I think we are better than the Bears too but I agree - we have to play better, especially on defense - our offensive line is going to have a hard time with their defense - IF this defense can start to get it together, this would be a great place to see it
the next 2 games are not going to be easy as both teams are playing better defensively than we have been - Haslett better get things together here

I agree guys....I dont think the Bears will stand a chance if we play our game. The Bears seem to have glaring holes in areas of our strengths. Their offensive line is terrible and cant pass block, where as rushing the passer is a strength for us. Also their pass defense seems to be suspect while our passing attack is our strength. And not to mention, noone knows Cutler better then the guy who drafted him.
The thing that scares me is that if we DONT get pressure, Martz will exploit our secondary. They just are not good enough right now (not by talent, by scheme). Forte also scares me, because he has breakaway speed. If he busts through the line for a long run(like most backs have this year) we are not catching him from behind like we have been fortunate to this year (Addai, Jackson)
I do think we are a better team then the Bears though, and if our defense can get after Cutler, I think we can rattle him into picks (as long as they arent throw to Rogers)

Martz's offense doesn't need a great O-line. If they can hit those quick passes like his offense did in St. Louis, we could be in for a long day. Still I think we win this one, as we always seem to play the Bears well.

We gotta stop playin 10 yds off then. Still don't understand why we weren't jamming at the line last week.

If the OL can protect DMc well and our D gets to Cutler and forces him to make mistakes, we should win. Ultimately this game will come down to turnovers. If our D can get a couple turnovers, we should win this game, so it is important to get in Cutlers face. He is a guy that will make mistakes if you get pressure on him. I hope that Haslett wises up and understands this.

I totally agree. We should be able to get pressure on Cutler. I think Orakpo will have a good day. But of course it shows what team shows up, and the D has to play better.

I thought that with Blache gone that would stop, but it is still happening. It's so frustrating to watch.

I also want to see the refs calling holding penalties - last week on more than a few plays the linemen were blatantly holding Orakpo and the refs were not calling it

it's supposed to rain up here which I think plays in our favor a bit. We can not kick it to Hester. The guy is sick. Special teams may be the difference.

If anyone knows how to make Cutler lay down, it's Shanahan.
I'm not especially worried about Hester... our Kick coverage has been devastating. Yes, I said it... devastating.

In addition, I have been on a cold streak on going to games for the past two. Before that I was on FIRE. I'm going and I think I will bring the luck.

Jay Cutler will throw for 400+ yards and a couple of scores against Haslett's defense. The Skins will lose by a late field goal because Haslett won;t be able to stop them from marching down the field.
I refuse to call the defense the Redskins' defense because IF ANYONE was the Def. Cor. besides Haslett, they would be better. So until he is fired or switches back to a D scheme that works with the personel he has, it's HIS rotten defense.

disagree but maybe u have inside info. A weak line like da bears and a qb like JC (awful under pressure) we should light them up on D especially Osakpo fat Al dirt thirty hall Clos and buchannon step up Fletch and Mc. On O we run screen then pass all day. Hopefully start off w a BOMB then follow w run run screen for the first couple drives. Slant here run there first and ten BOMB. Keep em guessing and protection is key. F the bears have faith

I'll be watching!! I just have no faith in Haslett. I don't care if the Skins win by 1 or 100 just as long as they leave Chicago 4-3.

Yup, Rak is a walking holding penalty. This game or the next, I think Tana will have a breakthru performance. We are slowly getting AA in the fold that they are starting to shift coverage a little, and Torrain is starting to get the running game going. If those 2 aspects start hitting Tana will be running FREE!!!!

I'm holding my breath on this one . Jay Cutler can have very bad games, and make a lot of mistakes, BUT he can also throw 4 TDs and look like Payton Manning on his good days.
Although I'm impressed with the Redskins ability to limit points in the red zone, overall ... this defense has SOME SERIOUS ISSUES ... actually, just plain BAD .... dead last in the NFL in yards allowed ... 24th against the run, and dead last against the pass. With that type of weakness in the secondary .... the up front guys had better get to Cutler fast and often, or he could make this a very long and painful day.
Personally, I think the defensive game plan against the Colts was ill conceived on Haslett's part ... and until he does something to convince me otherwise, I think he's a very mediocre DC that is doing LESS with MORE, and he's being bailed out by some very aggressive and talented performances from a few defensive players like Arakpo, Landry, Fletcher and others ... forcing key turnovers, and playing strong in the redzone.
The the defensive side for the Bears, they're strong against the run, so I doubt the Redskin's running game is going to be very successful, so McNabb is going to have to have a fine game, and make some big plays to win this.
With our defense ... this offense needs to put up some numbers, because we cannot afford to go into the 4th QT in a tight game.

I look for the Redskins defense to be better and I think we win - as bad as Haslett has been, he and his players are up against Mike Martz this week
the matchups of their offense against our defense versus our offense against their defense favors us - as we have seen, their offensive line issues are pretty bad and while we do not have a very good offensive line, I like Kyle Shanahan and Mike versus Mike Martz and Lovie
these next 2 games will tell us a lot about this season - more than the first 6 games, IMO

I am very excited. I think that there are enough good players among the two teams to build a good one worthy of having a good run to the Superbowl.
But ... since this is not the purpose of this event, I am not sure what is going to happen: I am not sure whether one or both teams are going to just lay an egg ... or two ...
