We all know Torain will be the starter.. Who do we have for backups?
Torain and Simpson as our 1-2 punch? Man i'm loving Torain, but I haven't seen much on Simpson, but i'm excited to see his 4.3 speed out there.

I think he did or is still serving time. It was armed robbery so I would think he is still in prison. However, with our justice system you never know.

He's been in stir for well over a year now, and has at least 8 to go before parole can be considered.

Haha I didn't know it was that long. He's an idiot, everyone knows you only commit crimes in california if you are famous.

Mike shanahan is a genius, for picking up these no names and castaways. Let's hope the opposing teams, are scratching their heads when seeing these names, too.

He was just welcoming friends. He sang to their mothers when they were sick.

I am still a big Portis fan, but you're right. Shanahan has the ability to sign very good backs (in his system) for cheap.

Time for Larry Johnson's triumphant return!!!
Just kidding. No doubt we'll see Torrain, Simpson and Keiland Williams this weekend. Its funny to see just four games in the season, the Redskins looking like Denver already with all of these who? RBs.

K Williams was cut last week for Banks... If CP is out, we have available Torrain & Simpson @ RB and Sellers & Young @ FB.

I just read that Torain is listed at 212, and the WP article says he's 218. I'm really surprised by both of these numbers. With his build and the way he runs I would've put him around 225 or so. He really runs with authority!

Before we start annointing Torrain anything, let's see if he can be consistent. Let the bulldozing TD run emotions go and come back down now. I think that we all can agree that consistency is key at the RB position here.
CP is a warrior but right now, the only thing you are getting consistent out of him is his pass blocking. He can't stay up long enough to get consistent running out of him. And now that he's got the groin, he's out for this week and probably next week too. Plus, he's been "touched". Playing the position he plays, not too many guys can bounce back from being concussed and be the same. The first run he had on Sunday, he got up with rubber legs and took himself out of the game.

I agree. Good thing that so far in this thread he's only been anointed as a "no name" and a "castaway."

1. Torrain knows this offense, he's proven to be run well in it, that's not in question. His health is questionable. Will he stay healthy to continue to run like he has? I hope so.
2. Clinton needs to be demoted to help his career and help the team. We need to do what Baltimore has done with Willis. Run with Torrain, soften up the defense and let a fresh CP come in for the 4th quarter and in certain scoring situations.

I can only assume he will improve his performance now that he doesn't HAVE to split his carries with Portis.
Don't most RBs get better throughout the game, as their carries increase?
In my opinion, Clinton's injury, fell in Shanny's lap, as it seems Clinton is no longer seen as the workhorse RB.
Either way, as long as we keep giving him the rock, I think he has the right attitude and talent to be succesful for this run, while Clinton retires...er...recovers.

That's fine, y'all... just forget that you will NEVER replace Clinton's devastating effectiveness as a pass blocker... that's a huge bonus part of his game.

Nope but bonus only matters when you're doing a good job at the primary position. Clinton looked good last week when he was in but he's slow now and I'm sad to say that. Torrain has what we need to keep this offense moving for now.
CP would have been one of the greatest RB's if he stayed in Mike's system, his #'s were amazing. They were amazing here in spite of the BS around him. I want to see him around a bit longer.

Clinton's game was as good as Torain's on Sunday, until he got hurt. He is, indeed, reaching the end...
But, the Redskins will not replace his blocking skills... and will miss them greatly.
