Game thoughts

At the end of the first quarter, Jags have rushed 37 yards in 7 carries (5.3 ypc) against our "first team" defense. Now Lavar, Trotter and many others (including Bruce Smith) are sitting out. Is it a matter of concern?
Also offensively we didn't do anything at all in 1st quarter (1 first down, 3 straight 3-and-outs). Coles and Gardner are sitting. Canidate didn't seem to play in the 1st quarter.
Is anyone catching the game on TV? I'm getting updates from nfl.com. How're we doing?

Aw shucks! Whats up with all the penalties piling up again? With 7:15 left in 2nd quarter, already 5 penalties for 45 yards!

Jags-Skins 14-3 Half time.
Skins Stats - Offense: 6/11 for 43 yards passing, 11 carries for 41 yards rushing, Wuerffel sacked thrice (-31 yards). Only FG came out of a Jags fumble. 4 first downs (0 passing, 1 rushing and 3 penalties). Ramsey (1/3 for 3 yards, 1 INT negated because of Jags penalty).
Jags Offense: 9/14 for 86 yards passing, 10 carries for 56 yards rushing, sacks-2, 1 lost fumble.
(From nfl.com; But I think the rushing statistics is suspect 'cause it doesn't include Joe Smith's name. He is the one who got the 8 yd TD run for the 2nd TD and he had quite a few carries in that drive and before.)
Spl. teams has been solid: 4 punts for 44.0 yd average by Baker, solid kicks by Hall including 26 yd FG & good KO returns.

3-10-JAC20 (7:12) D.Wuerffel sacked at JAX 28 for -8 yards (M.Leonard). Penalty on WAS-A.Smith, Offensive Holding, declined.
4-18-JAC28 (6:51) J.Hall 46 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-M.Cecere, Holder-B.Barker
Looked like the drive was going great and then - Wuerffel was sacked for the 4th time. Oops! Jeez thanks John Hall, we're at least getting some FGs 'cause of you. Last year, we'd have punted it off and that prolly would've given worse field position for our defense!

How're our run defense, rushing (offense), penalties and overall discipline? Anything to be worried about? The numbers don't seem pretty there!

Thanks for the coverage!!! Sorry I wasn't here for it.
I wouldn't worry too much about anything you saw last night as It think we did exactly what you want your team to do in the last preseason game -- next to nothing.
Nobody got hurt and we evaluated a few positions. Gonna take what we evaluated to a new thread....

Remember the Monty Python movie? You don't have the holy hand grenade and this little bunny is gonna whup yer butt.
Good job finally figuring out how to use the emoticons.
By the way - Laverneous Coleslaw-John Abraham is 4 words not two. So we have determined you can smack talk and not count.

Perhaps it is you who cannot decipher words on an internet forum. Here, to make it easier for you:
Two Words:
Laverneous Coleslaw
Quoted from the NY Jets Defensive End, Jonathan Abraham.
You see the 2 words are: Laverneous Coleslaw.
The man who spoke those 2 words is John Abraham. I forgot they don't go past the 3rd grade level in DC when it comes to English.

That's all right, I am not from D.C. so I passed english and know that you should enclose a quote with "" quotation marks. But that's ok, I know that New York schools are all the rage with their highest standards of education - not.
Just like you can't count. Good thing most of your team wasn't educated in NY state - they might have as many felons as the cowboys. Lord knows they wouldn't be able to tell how many yards to get a first down.
Have fun trying to figure out how many fingers you have on the hand you love the most (bet those callouses hurt)

I have to head out for now.
Been fun bashing around with ya
