I agree.. Man was a beast. Although he still celebrates after EVERY tackle. Hah, it's awesome though and gets me fired up.

He does seem much more comfortable in this new defense. Not out of position or making bad angles on tackles. I will give him his props for Dallas.

It was crazy because it seemed like every Pukes offensive play he was in on the tackle. It seemed like all you saw was #30 everywhere!

I'm a huge fan, don't get me wrong, and I sincerely hope this is a glimpse of what is to come. But I can also look objectively at the situation and know that 1 game doesn't make a career.

Either way, thanks for starting this thread. Seems like people have been really down on Landry for at least the past year. 17 tackles against Dallas shows what Landry is capable of!
btw I see the coaches reviewed the game tape and say Laron should have been credited with 18!!!!

Well he definately blew that sack on Romo, but what an improvement. I'm excited to see what he's going to be able to accomplish in this defense. Nice work Dirty Thirty!!

Apologies of this has already been posted, but our favorite ESPN reporter has Landry's (and Orakpo's) stock on the rise.

Hate Mosley or hate him, it's nice to see our guys getting some props for a change.

It was a great game, but as you say only one game. I was in fear the entire game of a double move deep ball with the safeties badly beaten like we saw all of last year. The cowboys never tried it, but you can bet we'll see it this week. If the safeties stay deep, then I'll be more excited.

He's a player - always was - just needed a little better leadership
this guy has speed and a head for playing the game - those are great traits in a safety

For the past few years, Landry was out of position. I know there a number of Blatche supporters here but I don't believe he made the best use of his talent. The talent had to confirm to his style, with little flexibility.
Landry should never have played free safety. It was funny to hear folks say on this board, he can't tackle. Well, apparently he can be in on 17 of them in one game -- when put at his natural position.
While safety is in both free and strong, there is a huge difference. Some can do both, e.g., Sean Taylor, but most play one much better than the other.
A strong safety is what Landry is, plain and simple. He plays the run very well, he can take on blockers with his strength and he is strong and fast enough to blitz. Yes, he is a head hunter, but a strong safety can be. A free safety has to be able to cover and make possibly the last tackle on a guy so taking a chance on tackling by throwing your body at them isn't the best thing.
The past few years, the skins have been very inclinded o mis-place players, or move them to positions they shouldn't play, Landry and Jason Taylor are the two best examples. Put a good guard at left tackle. Put a Lb at TE...
Landry will have a great year at strong safety -- assuming one of his violent collisions doesn't lay him up with some injury. think he's a bigger version of Bob Saunders.

I have liked the way Landry has played even before this season. Cant criticize him for last season that much only because the whole team stank last year.
Landry has posted 70 plus tackles every year. That is pretty darn good in my book. He is on the verge of a breakout season. He had a pretty darn good rookie season and one really great playoff game vs Seattle. The sky's the limit.

I have always felt that it was such a shame for the NFL not to have had a chance to see Landry and Taylor play together for a number of years - Taylor's talent combined with Landry's talent and defensive intelligence would have been unmatched in NFL history IMO
we all lost out big time
