Just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday 3/26, will be Tony's last radio show. I have to admit that I am a huge fan of his show as well as his writing and am sad to see his show come to an end. Do yourself a favor and catch his final call from 10am-1pm. I will be doing a special "Cheap Seats" for him and the show. It will be on the front page tomorrow. If you get a chance, email Mr. Tony and let him know how much you appriciated his work on the radio. I know I did. Thanks Tony, for just being you.

The thing I always like most about Mr. Tony is that he can cut through the chase, and get to the meat of the issue--and he always did it with class, style, and a least a little humour....

Nice work, Satchmo.

They have stated that the reason that the show is ending is so that Tony can concentrate on the other aspects of his ESPN commitments. The man has several irons in the fire with PTI, The Post and also Dream Job. That is just what I know about. It sounds like the radio show was a lesser priority than the others. I hope that is the reason and it isnt because ESPN brass is calling for a change because that show is best they offer.

Actually, he said he was quitting because he's been a nationally broadcasted for 6 years now and in that past year or so espn radio has cut his show off in some major metro areas (LA, NYC, CHI, etc.) and because of that he felt like his show wasn't working. So i guess in a sense he gave you the hint that he was being pushed out. This is very unfortunate because he's the reason that i started listening to talk radio in the first place. Oh well, at least he says that he'll be back within six months.

I still don't think we are hearing the whole story. Did ESPN Radio push him a little?
