Anybody like the idea of picking up Macho Harris or Quenton Demps from the Iggles? I like Harris from his college days and he's only coming into his 2nd yr

Harris was a heck of a player in college, I can't believe he got cut already. He was a good returner too. I don't know if the Eagles used him for that. He'd be a popular pickup as well.

i like demps. Macho was a boom or bust guy coming out of college and i think he has proven he might be on the bust side of things.

He wasn't boom or bust in college, he was a great player for the Hokies. He was only with the Eagles one year, so what is the statement he's boom or bust based on exactly?

I can name a ton of great players in college.. thats not my point...He was boom or bust coming into the nfl because he had a lot of intangibles that didnt bode well for him making the transition....size and his character to name a few....character being a serious issue and a main reason why he slipped all the way to the 5th round

He was a vastly overrated player for the Hokies. He got lots of hype and credit because he would constantly take stupid chances and as a result took a few pics to the house. However, he was not consistent and got beat quite often. The Eagles tried to move him to corner from safety this offseason, but he was beaten out by a rookie 4th round draft pick.

I'm not defending him on the Eagles because I really don't know how he played, but I do not agree he was overrated on the Hokies. He made so many plays on D and was a constant threat to break returns. I'm an alum and watch over half the games every year and we missed him when he left. But that doesn't mean he couldn't be a great college player and a bust in the NFL, we've seen so many of those. Like another from another of my alma mater's Desmond Howard who was picked way before the 5th round.

Is that really a character issue, anyway?

It is in the No Fun League.

More of a culture issue.. Some places its legal and not considered a "character flaw" any more then having a beer. I'd rather a guy on my team blaze then get dwi s or a domestic violence charge usually stemming from alcohol consumption.
Um what was the topic?.

Bottom line is that Harris is too slow to play corner and not physical enough to play safety. That's why he was cut.

Sounds right, I was only defending him at the college level
