Shanahan says Dennis Morris was traded to StLouis because he wasn't gonna make this team

nothing released yet. I'll update once I hear what we got or who but he wasn't going to make the team anyways so better than getting nothing.

Dag gone shame too. That guy has some serious potential.

That sucks. I was hoping he'd be able to transition to FB and take Sellers place. I still like to watch his highlight reel. Good luck D-MO if this is true!

He was traded for a conditional pick. So depending on how he plays and how much, will depend on what we get in return.
LPJ - he wasn't going to make the team.

That's a major bummer! I really did think he was going to eventually supplant Sellers and be a stud!

The Redskins are evaluating Hall Davis, who the Rams listed as a DE but Shanahan called a LB
Davis, who stands 6-foot-4, 273 pounds is a rookie out of Louisiana-Lafeyette

Getting a Rams' draft pick is like winning the lotto. Take the pick, not their player.

Huh... I thought sure he was going to be a practice squad guy this year, and get a good look next year at backing up Sellers...

Defensive end Hall Davis (will likely convert to LB once he is sent here) is expected to be the compensation.
An interesting tidbit on Davis.

I think that he was listed as a TE. I am guessing his blocking skills didn't cut it for Shanny. I loved his youtube compilation though! Darn I would've loved seeing him truck one of the Cowboys' DBs.

Redskins clarified that it was not a player for player trade.
Skins traded the TE for a cond. pick
Skins got the LB for a cond. pick.
So whatever.

If the Rams were interested enough to trade, the clear message is, he wasn't going to clear waivers to make it to the PS, whether Shanny wanted him, or not.

I think this is a standard case of two teams trading away players that are not likely to make the team but are possibly good enough to make it on another team.
Hate to see D-Mo go, because I had visions of a tough as nails blocker/pass catching FB and H-back. But he evidently did little in practice to impress the coaches.
Hall Davis is a guy that definitely should be in a 3-4 as a rush OLB. Rams run a 4-3, so not sure why they drafted him. He is raw, so not sure how he will show enough in the next week to make the team. See him as a Chris Wilson clone.

I hope he drums up some business, for the family, against the Cowboys!
