Ditto with the addition that I want to be competitive in them all

I have thoughts lots about it and I honestly feel 7-9/8-8 - if they catch a break or so maybe 9-7.

13-3 for the season.. 20-4 (including preseason, playoffs, and winning SB)
Go ahead and give your "realistic" pics of 7-9, and 6-10.. ugh.. I hope you all sleep well expecting your team to be bums

I'm with you guys - I know that 8-8 might not sound like a lot but that would be a big step forward IMO - PROVIDING we look like an NFL 'team' again in both execution and desire

We will definitely have a winning record this season. I think 8-8 or 7-9 is unrealisticly low. We are going to go 4-2 or 5-1 in the division, beating the Smeagols twice, Cowpies twice, and split with the G-strings. I think we split with the AFC South and the NFC North, and win our two finish determined games (Rams and Bucs). That leaves us at 10-6 or 11-5. Of Course, injuries are the unknown element here. If McNabb goes down for any significant amount of time, or the O-line gets dinged up, all of that can change.

We can certainly hope for more, but this would be a solid step forward

I see
I'll start by hognosticating a 16 win regular season
then I have to think we are most likely going to falter in some games so that should perhaps be more like - 13-3
then there's the fact that we are coming off 4-12, so I'll say we've improved to 10-6
when you 'factor' in the home and away game drama that might come down some more, so I'll say it's most likely 9-7 or 8-8
SOOOOO ... I'll stick with somewhere between 13-3 and 4-12 -

McNAbb's already down and may not play against the Cowboys. If he doesn't we lose. Age makes us too vulnerable and we're still not solid on the OL, even if healthy. I feel much better about our receivers, primarily because of the performances of Armstrong and Thomas in pre-season. Still, we're not going to be able to run the ball and with have trouble with the rush.

I think we win one, lose one. It's the NFC East. The only team I think we beat outright is Dallas. But I think it's b/c Romo looks terrible and the line looks even worse.

The Smeagols are going nowhere with Kolb. We'll beat them twice also. Just on the McNabb revenge factor alone.

I got us at 12-4.
Seriously tho.

I got us going 11-5. We will sweep the Eagles, Cowgirls and split with NY.
I think many teams will underestimate this team and be surprised by the butt whoopin they receive.

Some of the predictions in this thread are absurd. No doubt we will be a better team, but anyone expecting us to go 5-1 in the division needs a healthy dose of reality.

I also would just never personally project us losing to the Eagles. Then again I pick us to go 16-0 in my pool every year, so I suppose that's my prediction. Yes, it is against the spread but I'd pick them if it wasn't so it's my story and I'm sticking with it...

The rest of the division will be getting a healthy dose of that reality this season.
BTW, you picking them to perfectly split along home and away games is so totally realistic.

Losing really takes its toll on the fans. Is this exercise a coping mechanism?
This is never a good exercise IMO. It is much better to take everything one game at a time. On any given week in the NFL, anything can happen, and the worst team in the league can beat the best team. The Redskins have a chance to win every game this season. That should be the goal.
Maybe in hindsight we will look back and say it was "realistic" to expect to win only [choose your number] games. I don't might going though that process looking backwards, but I refuse to poison my hopes and expectations by doing that looking forwards!
So for now, I will go on record and say 16-0 for the regular season. And yes, I am serious. Call me crazy and say that is "unrealistic" -- but every season has plenty of unexpected surprises, some positive and some negative. Nobody knows the future, so I renounce the crystal ball.
