Gameday rituals and superstitions

Anyone have those gameday rituals and superstitions?

Rituals:
Hang redskins flag outside house in the morning of game day.
Wear home or away jersey depending on where the game is played.
BBQ whatever the weather.
Brews....not that it's just for football, just makes the losing more tolerable.

Superstitions:
I have to watch it on a certain TV, as the skins have a better record when I do...I know, didn't help last year, but they won all 4 games watching from the flat screen in my bar. Lost only 2 in which I did.
cannot wear a Chris Cooley Jersey during game day, now....I wore it once last year, was the game he got hurt in.
There are some more, but much more private! lol

I wear underwear that's the opposing team's colors. That way they can kiss my butt all day.

I wear burgundy underwear, my white/burgundy bball shorts and my grey skins t-shirt - when watching at home of course.

I usually turn the TV on... I can't get over the feeling that I won't see the game if I don't...

Yupster's 2nd paradox: It's bad luck to be superstitious.

I wear a jersey to work on Friday.

On gameday I select a player jersey based on where I think the team will need to be strongest (offense or defense).

I'm watching pregame at 11 and during the game I'm watching it on TV while listening on the radio (I sync it with the DVR).

If they win, I wear a "victory jersey" on Monday.

I hate watching the game anywhere else but at home (not that I don't sometimes have to watch it elsewhere) because I feel "off"

Wasn't that your first paradox also? Or is that what makes it the second paradox? :hmm:

2nd. The 1st is: You have to be out of your mind to be sane.

the year we beat tampa in the playoffs... halfway through that game, my wife made me a sandwich. i was so nervous i couldn't eat it. i told her i didnt want it. upset that she made a sandwich for nothing... the sly one that she is...she told me "it was a lucky sandwich". however, i refused to eat a lucky sandwich. we won that game and i froze it and brought it out for the seattle game. i told her that if we won the superbowl that year... it would be in our freezer until next years opening day. mold and all.

Good topic, =)

I start off wearing #21 and change up during halftime to #26. Most of the time last year I forgot coz I was a lil too drunk and we lost.

For the past 10 years, most of the days that the Redskins are playing have started with great expectations and hoping the boys in B&G would find a way to win - most have ended in disapointment

I think that we are going to see a very different effort this season and I'm looking forward, not back - I don't think that anything that I thought might have helped the Redskins win, really did very much, so, this season, I'm just going to try and watch each game and hopefully witness a franchise that is finally being coached by winners and a group of players who are determined to give what it takes on the practice field and during the game

I'm very encouraged by all the changes and I don't think this group are going to need much of anything in the way of rituals or superstitions
we are going to see a very different product in B&G and they will not be winning because they got lucky

The first full season I was back in the area(05-06), I bought a hat/t-shirt from redskins store. I wear that t-shirt as an undershirt every friday that we have a game the following weekend.
