Harvey Unga - Did we look at him

Not sure but it would be nice to get a young player for a good price. Do we know if the Skins went and checked out the RB Harvey Unga from BYU. He has entered in the Supplemental Draft which is being held Thursday night. If you don't know the story, he was released from the team for violation of their honor code. He had premarital sex with his fiance and it cost him his Senior year at BYU. He's currently the record holder for rushing yards in the schools history.

Not sure we would be looking to draft a Running Back this year. Especially without seeing how the running game shakes out this year and going forward.

I can't believe these two athletes were the only folks on BYU's campus having sex. What a joke.

We weren't listed as 1 of the teams at his pro day.

Thanks for the info. I think based off production, depending on his numbers, he should be someone we're looking at for sure. We're very old at the RB position and even though we have a top tier fantasy football backfield from '06, it's still maybe not good enough to get the job done in '10. Who knows.

With these character issues, do you think he's worth the chance? :D

There are many expectations for a pro athlete. Virginity isn't 1 of them

The Eagles are interested. Now say the Eagles draft him for what amounts to a 3rd round pick next year it will be hailed as a smart move and Mel Kiper and the rest will include the pick in their "draft grades" next year. But, if the Redskins picked him for a 3rd rounder there would be no mention made, just that the Skins, per ususal, don't have any draft picks. Ah, I am grumpy today.

Actually we got quite a bit of praise because of our pick Jeramy Jarmon who we got in the 3rd round and was considered as a 1st round player.

sorry to stray a little but is it too early to say what draft picks we have for next year or do we have to wait due to the mcnabb trade?

Yeah. I think it's too early because there's still the possibility that we trade someone or we trade for someone. Not to mention any supplemental picks.

But we have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th (McNabb) 5th, 6th and 7th I think. I can't remember but JC is a 4th for '12 but could be '11.

It's not too early. We give Philly either a third or a fourth for McNabb. Then we give New Orleans the other of those two picks for the tackle trade. We get back from N.O. either a 5, 6, or 7 depending on which pick we give them. So no third or fourth next year, and an extra either 5,6, or 7.

If this is the guy I'm thinking of he won't be a good fit in Shanny's backfield. A big bruiser but not very agile or fast. Eagles want him for his size but, having watched BYU on several occasions, not a good pick for the quick zone cutbacks we'll need here.

I think we do need a young running back since our guys are old. We do need some youth on the team and running back would be a good position to start with. Too bad he may go to the eagles.

Shanahan also brought Torrain with him as well.

And he went for a 7th round pick to the Bears.

Dallas picked up Josh Price-Brent DT.

Wish we would have offered our #7 for a young RB. The Bear's pick was ranked #12. Not sure where our pick was.
