Elders of this message board please hear me out on TO

Very torn on this issue only because Shanny is our leader and would control TO. Of course McNabb's blessing is required also. A one year deal incentive laced. From day one the players instantly realized there is a new sheriff in town (dramatic pause) and his name is Mike Shanahan.
TO outperformed Kelly and Thomas together with Losman throwing TO the ball. I'd prefer Campbell over Losman any day.
TO 2009 Stats: 829 yards receiving with 5 TDs
Kelly / Thomas 2009 Stats combined: 672 combined (Kelley: 347/ Thomas: 325) and 3 TDs.
Moss: 902 receiving yards with 3 TDs

*********TO and Kelly started 16 games in 09 with Thomas starting 14.
WR is weak as we all understand. What do we do? Granted, I'm a newbie here but have been a fan for 26 plus years. It absolutely kills me when the B&G play like, well crap. I live in OK and everyone and their dog cheers for the Cowboys.
When petitioning for TO I feel like Joe Namath when it was in the early hours of the morning and he was leaving with some harlet and a teammate said: Joe she is ugly, and Joe said.....well, it's late and I don't see Ms America walking through that door.
Thoughts? I approach the elders with respect and encourage the opinions reflect the stats of 2009.
Best Regards,
AD

Just FYI, not to say your research is suspect or anything, but Losman was in Oakland last year.

There you have it.....the one piece I pulled from memory was wrong, My apologies. The stats however were pulled from NFL.com hence the link. Trent Edwards not Losman. Not sure there is a diff btw the two qbs but it's corrected now.

Dude-
There are no stats that you can produce that would ever illicit a positive response from me regarding bringing old, loud mouthed, former iggle, former puke, Terrell owens to the Washington Redskins.....
Just not much upside....better off giving Malcom and Devin his reps as they have more potential going forward.....
Welcome to the board!

I would sincerely hate to see TO become a Redskin. I watched the NFL channel when he was on and he made it sound like he was the most misunderestood, still elite receiver in the world. TO has earned all of the bad press he has gotten because of his me first, screw you attitude. We already have one of those in Big Al.
I did watch a few games that TO appeared in last year. He is an over the hill player hoping to one more big paycheck. We don't need him.

I'd say that the receivers who make this team, assuming we keep 5, will be:
S. Moss
M. Kelly
D. Thomas
J. Galloway
T. Austin WR/Return Specialist
In an interview last week, Shanny stated that they would keep the top 5 or 6 guys.
Is this group Awe Inspiring? No. But, I do think we should give Thomas and Kelly a shot to succeed with an improved offensive line and an improved quarterback.
WR's sometimes come into their own late, i.e. Sidney Rice, Roddy White, Vincent Jackson.
T.O. is too big of a risk. He has his "reality show" and plenty reason to create a distraction for TV and there's the delicate situation with he and McNabb. When building something from the ground up, you don't want to put a crack in the foundation.

TO, by himself was better than the two he named.. If TO doesn't act up with his teamates than it'll be perfect. PLENTY of you live in the past when referring to TO which is understandable but I want to win and if it means bringing in a NON-CRIMINAL, who hasn't FAILED A DRUG TEST, and works his TAIL OFF ON CONDITIONING.. than I want him... but like I said before, with McNabb here TO won't be here.
Sooo that's about it. No TO but not for the reasons some of these other guys are talking about.

I doubt if Galloway makes it. He lost it 2 years ago. 20 catches for 205 yards in the last 2 years.

I like T.O. I just don't think it is happening.
Shanahan has enough on his plate dealing with Haynesworth.
Even if T.O. behaves the circus that the media would create would be too much to bare for even a veteran team. This is a young team trying to establish themselves. Distractions can hurt a team, especially new teammates who have yet to find there chemistry.
I like T.O., I would welcome it. But, I know it is not happening. We have Mcnabb and we all know they have a rocky past. If we did not have Mcnabb then it might be a real possibility. As for know I will say it is one in a million shot we sign T.O.

TO has behaved exactly ONE year out of the past how many? I'm sorry, what talent he has left compared to his potential drama does not leave the benefit of a doubt with me. Just say no.

They say that the taste of Cyanide is sweet. I would not not of course by first hand experience but knowing about the results I will pass FOREVER!!!
Some Skins fans are desperate, no doubt.

Never been a TO fan, maybe because he played for my 2 most hated rivals...but, I would consider him with one stipulation -- sign him to ONLY a one year deal with incentives based on games played, not catches made or pro bowls made.
That way, if he acts up, we cut him immediately!

1. I would rather have McNabb at QB than have TO on the team.
2. The Post on-line has a series of pictures of Redskin vets re-uniting at mini-camp. Art Monk looks like he hasn't gained a pound since he played. I would take Monk at 50 years old over TO at 36. Absolutely.

I'm not the moral police, but plenty of posters here are.. you think they'd say V-Jax in light of his two DUIs or a guy who never gets in trouble off the field? V-Jax is younger and is a total stud so I agree with you Vet.

I would too. But I would take T.O. The way this team is structured there is like a three year window before another rebuild. So, they need to pounce on WR's.

B-Rad, like a "RIGHT NOW" attitude huh? See that's what I was thinking after we got Donovan and those RBs. Hey look, either way for me I'll be ok with because TO and V-Jax are ballers. TO has slid down the scale though dropping some easy ones in Buffalo but at the same time its not like he had a bunch of opportunities being that the Bills OLine was garbage. They turned to the running game pretty early in the season not giving WRs many chances.
