Westbrook at Slot

Good day brothers of the Red and Gold.

Why not put Westbrook at Slot? With his health, yes he passed the Rams' physical, I can't see Westbrook staying healthy at RB. He has proven hands and chemistry with McNabb.

Let's face it; Thomas and Kelly combined didn't obtain 800 yards receiving. The WR position is weak.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Westbrook would be a good fit anywhere on the offense pretty much, he is capable of running the ball but could also be used in the slot as sort of a flanker like Randle El was supposed to do. He is aging though so don't be surprised if ShanAllen do not want another veteran running back.

No running back responsibilities period. We are covered at RB and Westbrook can't handle the punishment. WR, very weak. I appreciate your input.

I'm 38 and have been a Redskins fan since 12. It's been a long road but I, for the first time in many years, am very excited.

I can't think of any reason not to have him here for camp. I'm assuming we're either talking about a contract with little or no bonus included. So if he doesn't make the team, nothing is lost.

Why not keep the best 3 or 4 RB's out of the best group of talent you can possibly invite to training camp? Most teams have 7 or 8 RB's getting some reps in camp. If Westbrook turns out to be the best player and Portis turns out to be the worst, i say, cut Portis. It's that simple. Best player wins.

I also feel that given Westbrooks receiving ability and his obvious chemistry with McNAbb, he could be an excellent 3rd down back, something none of the others (Portis, Parker, Johnson and Torain) are known to excel in. Given the injury history of all the RB's currently on the roster, it might work out best if they don't count on any one RB to be a workhorse. I bet Portis, Parker or Johnson will win the starting job, Westbrook wins the 3rd down job and then you have a couple change of pace guys to mix in during the game/season.

Westbrook @ slot, hum interesting thought. I really would prefer our

Slot, wow watch the vid's.
