I kinda have to agree about us lookin a little ugly behind Santana in the depth chart. We have guys that really need to step it up this year. Donovan has always turned crap recievers into gold.

I'd really like to see people other than him on the field anyway. I'm not a huge fan myself. Not that I hope he can't play, I just wouldn't be all that bothered by it.

Moss is a viable deep threat providing someone can get him the ball. MB04 could, JC could not. If McNabb can hit some deep throws to turn 10 play drives into 3 or 4 play drives our offense will roll. So it is a must that the surgery went well. We definitely don't need multiple surgeries on his knees like Kelly has had on his.

On the depth chart, I feel somewhat comfortable with Thomas. He started to come around last year. Kelly hasn't been healthy enough to show anything yet. Our offense may be better served with Davis and ey playing at the same time alternating running deep seam routes.

I also want to see Thomas and Kelly play more, but I still like Santana's deep threat potential.

I will admit I have almost no clue how the zone blocking system works. Depending on how TE's are used in the system we may or may not be dependent upon our wide outs.

seems like there's still a few here that need reminding we are a 4-12 franchise (actually, that was our w-l record, we were far worse than that!) and while we would like to be in the playoffs this year that's really not happening - we are most likely going to end up with a 7-9 or 8-8 record and that will be a huge improvement over the travesty that was playing in B&G in 2009

NOW, we have a number of players that are just not going to be able to keep playing at a level that we have seen and Moss is one of them

be patient and watch the franchise change over the next couple of years

I just hope its not a lingering thing. If what he says is true about having pain for the last 3 years, then this could be a blessing. Moss is a gamer. I envision moss (who can get open) in a Desean Jackson role. McNugget to Moss, that could be nice.

Could be a big year for Moss with McNabb. Just thinking about how many times JC missed him on deep balls over the past couple of years.

That's a very good point - Moss is a "gamer" and will find a way to be a part of what we have going here this season - we are in transition but there are a number of players here that know they don't have a lot of opportunities left in the NFL and having McNabb is going to help a lot of those guys be better

I like the recievers we have. Mcnabb has options underneath and he knows how to use the entire field. #89 has a few years to entertain, I gotta love Moss.

Knee scopes are pretty common these days. He's also had hamstring issues, not knee issues, so I think the title is a bit misleading. Of course you're going to be concerned when an older player has ANY surgery, but a scope is about a minescule a concern as we can have. Non-issue IMO.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the only legitimate NFL WR we have on our team either.

The only WR we have that opposing defenses game plan to stop. The only guy that makes safeties notice where he is on every play. No, I'm not a fan of that guy!

I'm with you; it wouldn't bother me if our only starting caliber WR can't play.

He wouldn't be starting caliber on a lot of teams, unless they wanted a slot receiver who can't catch.

I want to have Thomas and Kelly on the field alot so we can tell if they can play or not. I'm tired of vacillating on them and trading for Qb's when we should trade for Brandon Marshall types if possible.

If Shanahan wanted Marshall he would have gotten him. We had plenty of time to make that deal.

This year you will see an increased role for sure out of Thomas. I'm calling it right now, Kelly gets hurt early. Either way Santana needs to be on the field as much as possible.

Well it doesn't really matter if Shanahan didn't deal for him, what matters is that he has mad skills.

Besides RB's and QB's, Shanahan's always been able to develop WR's. Oh yeah, O-lines too! I expect some young WR's to step up this year. Shanahan's system will put them in positions to succeed and McNabb will put the ball in their hands. So if Devin and Malcolm don't deliver, I bet someone else will. By mid-season, I expect to see Santana as the #2, sometimes #3 WR. Don't forget ey and Fred Davis either. I bet they spread them out to WR, like they used to do with Sharpe in Denver. Lineup in a 2 TE set, then motion the TE into the slot.

Well, if you went by top two instead of top 3 i probly could. Green Bay, New England, Vikings, Jets, Houston, Philly, Cincinatti, Pittsburgh (Hines Ward, Mike Wallace), Baltimore, and it would be very questionable if he would start for Dallas, Arizona, or New Orleans. And eventually T.O. will sign somewhere, who is better. So there is probably a dozen.
