Stupid Movie Titles or What.....?

You know that Hollywood is running out of scenarios when they can't come up with NEW movie titles. Instead, they just recycle old ones.
Is that pathetic or what....? Here's some examples:
Clash of the Titans. I remember the one in early 80s when I was a teenager
Robin Hood (with Russell Crowe). Didn't Kev Cosner screw up the old one with his NON-British voice..?
Karate Kid (coming out soon)... ahhh aye aye Carumba

well it seems like technology has made it so any action movie is in danger of a remake.

I have to disagree with your disaapointment. I'm actually looking forward to some of the remakes, specifically Clash of the Titans. The movie was great for it's time, but with the technological advances, that movie could be great.

I'm looking forward to Clash of the Titans.. I remember the first one back in the days and it's actually one of my favorites. Looking forward to the 2010 version, gonna be pretty intense I think.
Robin Hood.. now this one I'm pretty excited about too. There's never been a real good one before as all the others have made him out to be some pansy in tights. Almost all depictions of him are like musicals and crap like that. This looks hardcore and I can't wait.
Karate Kid.. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. This idea is just horrible. I won't even watch it for free on bootleg. I won't even watch it if you pay me... wait.. I take that last one back, PAY ME and I'll watch it. Definitely not sober do'h. Maybe they should have called it something else besides the Karate Kid?

T of J,
You know they aren't recycling those three movie titles, right? Those movies are re-makes; hollywood and the music industry does it all the time. Heck the auto industry has even gotten into it too.
When I think of them recycling movie titles I think of movie with the same name, but different plots. The title, "The Getaway" has several movies with different stories and I'm sure their are countless other examples.

Just thought I'd throw you all a bone.....
I like Russ Crowe, he's a stud, and I really like Gladiator. This RobintheHOOD might be pretty good as well.
I think they COULD HAVE added something like Clash of the Titans II or Son of Karate kid.........or something.....

LOL@ Son of the Karate Kid.. Come on now, you know the dweeb Danny didn't have any kids!!! What they didn't show was after he beat the Asian guy, he met another Asian guy who swept him off of his feet (so to speak) and the rest was gay history!

After Son of the Mask

, I'm scarred on that theme and don't EVER want to see it again.

Clash of the Titans was god awful. One of the worst action movies i've ever seen. Don't waste your money, especially for the 3D. They added 3D stuff in post-production and it is terrible. All around a brutal movie.

I hate to watch new 3D movies. I'll watch the 2D counterparts or wait until it comes out on DVD.
As for the remakes, I want to see a lot of them for nastalgia's sake. Like Nightmare on Elm Street; that was my favorite growing up and I want to see what they did, even though it got bad reviews.

It's a remake. If you like horror, The first Halloween I highly recommend. Rob Zombie did an excellent job on that remake.

Just want to mention a couple good movies that came out within 5 years.
Transformers 1 and 2, 300 was absolutley fantastic and Avatar was one of the best ever. The Lord of the Rings series was very good.
Movies I think that should be remade or made. Mad Max series and Genghis Khan should have a made about him particularly the war scenes would be good. Voltron would be a good idea as well. Dragon Ball Z should be remade the movie was terrible.

There is a great Ghengis Khan movie called "Mongol" that I would check out if I were you. Although, its kind of about his childhood and rise to power as opposed to his empire building. It was supposed to be the beginning of a trilogy, but I think the money fell through.

So my wife and I got to see Karate Kid recently. Will Smiths son is going to have a career being in movies.....just like dad.
But here's a thought. Jackie Chan is teaching the boy KUNG FU... which is NOT Karate. Come on man, the title does not jibe.
It should be called KUNG FU Kid...........NOT Karate Kid.
Like I said: stupid name title for a movie.l
