The new regime is here, and I hope their are some changes as far as the late rounds go from recent years.

1. Go for starters. Guys with great athleticism. They may be small school projects or guys with character concerns, but so be it. Good depth can be found in free agency. It doesn't need to be drafted.

2.Take some offense late in the draft, we haven't done that enough in recent years. Guys like Marko Mitchell could turn into Marques Colston. It only takes one dynamic player.

3. Don't be afraid to take a kicker 7th round. Especially if they like somebody alot, like a Hunter Lawrence or a Brett Swenson.

no thanks on 3. There are enough guys who are FA's to have on the squad next season.

1. - I think that's usually the plan but later on in the draft, the quality of the guys there are not as good. Question - is the rookie better than the Vet we have there?

2. We've only got 3 picks left.

I have an idea that we're going to trade out of our spot in the 4th and pick up more picks tomorrow - which I'm a huge fan of. If we can't get value there, then don't do it but I hope they are open to the idea. Keep all of our next years picks though.

I'd like to see us take Right Tackle (S. Capers, T. Washington, or B. Campbell) or KR/PR/RB Joe McKnight with the 4th round pick. If the team is really planning to add a Linebacker, Eric Norwood would be a good pickup.


In 5th I'd grab Dan Lefevour if he's there. If not, LB Roddrick Muckleroy, or OL Chris Scott.

In the 7th return specialist Trindon Holliday from LSU might be a good pickup. Given his size, it might be hard to keep him on the 53 man roster since he really can't do anything else but return kicks. But, he's great at that, and if the coaches can get anything else out of him, he could be a good pickup like Jermaine Lewis or Vy Sikahema from a while back.

WR Carlton Mitchell could also be a good find if teams pass on him. He'll probably go in the 4th-5th. I'm also a big fan of QB Sean Canfield.

** I'd also not be dissapointed if we took Dominique Franks at some point with the intention of moving him from corner to safety.
