Man, Orakpo, Haynesworth, Carriker and Carter would give us one hell of a 4-3 line... and Haynesworth, Kemoatu and Carriker gives us a hell of a 3-4 line. I think we're going to be strong on the defensive line next season, now to get some linebackers!

I'm dying to know what we gave up.

To acquire Adam Carricker, Washington swapped spots with St. Louis in the 5th round for the pick the Rams had from the Eagles.

We gave up our 5th round pick in this coming draft. I wish we had more picks, but getting a stud 3-4 DE is pretty nice.

And then there were 3.

OMG, we SWAPPED picks with the Rams? That was it?! Rotoworld had assumed we'd be trading picks from next year's draft because they didn't think we had the ammo. We just straight up rooked the Rams. They must need to free up salary for Sam Bradford

Looks like we just swapped 5th round picks with them based on Schefter's twitter. Can that really be all we gave up?

Nice, I'll take that that trade for sure.

Did somebody at Redskins park misread the memo though that said we needed LINEMEN this season? :)

The way I read it, we essentially traded spots in teh 5th round with the Rams. The Rams get the Redskins 5th round draft pick, which is higher, and the Redskins get the Rams 5th round pick, which is lower.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I'd love to... but that looks like it.

Seems like a pretty low price to pay. Did this guy run over Spagnuolo's cat? :hmm:

can you explain - we had 4 picks and we still have 4 picks = where are you getting to us only having 3?

with the swap of picks, we are giving up the trade value chart equivalent of a 7th

Check the time, this was posted before the details were released.

70- Good Starter

Comment: Carriker suffered an ankle injury last season and was moved from NT to UT where he could be a better fit going forward. Carriker has good size and strength with good quickness. He can be physical playing the run. He has enough strength to control the center and keep LBs free from behind. He reacts well and shows good effort and toughness. He is quick enough to penetrate and disrupt blocking schemes but tends to play slightly upright where he can get washed inside at times. Athletically he has good agility. He can sink his weight and locate the ball quick inside. As a pass rusher he is active inside but needs to refine his up field moves. He can create the inside push when he reverts to the power rush but is missing the quick burst to clear at this time. His ability to combine his moves needs developing. Overall, an active, intense player inside whose second season production was affected by injury during the year.

:D that just does not sound right - Carriker was first rounder in 2007 for crying out loud - Linehan is a defensive coach - this looks like a steal by Allen & the Redskins

Thanks. Does this trade indicate there's more to come? I.E. Trading AH for St Louis' 2nd and 3rd this year and maybe a 2nd next year?

Well he's really not all that good. He started 16 games as a rookie in 07, got benched in 08, and missed all of 09 with an injury. There is potential there but he hasn't lived up to it yet.

Swapping picks with the Rams shouldve benefitted us, aren't they ahead of us in draft order?

playing beside FAT AL will help him realize his potential. =)

He's got about as much potential as Erasmus James did, but at this price, it's hard to have a problem with the move.

The teams agreed to swap picks in the fifth and seventh rounds of this weekend's draft as compensation.
