Hey i saw this article on another bored and found it pretty interesting and i must say i feel the same way and i know a lot of other skins fans feel tthe same way.

Good article. But, I do think the McNabb acquisition is different. First, I believe that this is a move that Shanahan and Bruce wanted to make. In years past, it seemed as if Snyder-Ratto chummed it up over steak and wine when deciding who to pursue in free agency. Second, it's rare that you find a quarterback of McNabb's caliber via a trade for a 2nd and 3/4th round pick. It's even more rare to get that player from a division rival - which some would argue strengthens the Skins and weakens the Eagles.

I am no Snyder apologist, but I do think things have changed.

I think things have changed too. Whoever wrote that article delved into the Redskins for all of about 5 minutes to write that article. Anyone could regurgitate what you read in the newspapers. There is a philosophical change taking place. A GM for the first time in the Snyder era. In addition, another veteran HC who has been handed the keys to the city (like Gibbs II). Gibbs II was undoubtedly the best period under Snyder's ownership, but the personnel decisions were still suspect. Now with a GM dedicated to working the personnel side while Shanahan instills discipline and a team concept, there is a whole new attitude being born in Ashburn. You've heard some of the players make comments about how little respect they had for the regime and schemes last year. All of that has changed for the better and you can hear the excitement and respect in the players' comments.

That's exactly how I feel about this. The players are responding enthusiastically to the changes, which just shows how bad things really were under Zorn, and why we should expect much better results.

In addition, I've noticed that several players that have been asked about McNabb have a universal opinion that seems to be the common feeling across the board ... he's a leader ... which speaks volumes about what was missing in the offensive huddle.

Don't be shocked to see a "Miami" type turnaround this year with the Redskins ... I think it is quite possible that this team will challenge Dallas for the NFC East THIS YEAR.

(If the defense at least maintains, or improves, and doesn't suffer a regression in the 3-4 switch).

The article is trying to persuade me that this is the same old Redskins trying to gild the lily ... again

I disagree - I think that this new FO group are trying to do the best they can as quickly as possible - we did not rush out and sign Peppers or the best and the biggest - this franchise has some serious rebuilding going on - just not in the flashy way that Snyder and some here would like to see

we are making progress - it's still a work in progress but there is a plan despit what is intimated in this article

Danny has done it again. Just when i think he cant fool our fans, he does it again. Hats off to him..cant wait to see what trick he uses next year..maybe Bret Favre and LT.

I hear what you're implying but I cannot believe Snyder has anything to do with who or what Allen and Shanahan are making decisions on here

as I said the article is partly right but the writer does not understand that Snyder's NOT managing or making football related decisions here anymore, thankfully

this article is total BS.

we traded a 2nd this year and a third next year for a HOF QB who will "coach up" a rookie QB either this year or next. We have also added some great depth on d, and we still have some major trade bait for draft picks or players. I'd love to pick up a LT like Gaither for Haynesworth and pick up Williams or Okung in the draft. Then trade Campbell for whoever picks up the QB that Shanny has his eyes on later in the draft, like Lefevor, Pike, or Skelton. Point is that they still have some things that are going to go down before this draft is over.

Maybe this time is different, but I will believe it only when I see it on the scoreboard and in the standings. Gibbs was not successful every year with the Redskins (I and II). Shanahan was not successful every year with the Broncos. Bruce Allen has not yet proven himself to be a genius at evaluating talent. Maybe things will come together quickly. Maybe it will take more time. Maybe this will prove to be another failed experiment. I will always cheer for my team, but I am not drinking the koolaid.

Nobody's going crazy about the changes - as far as I'm concerned, the franchise is in dire straits but fortunately the guys (Cerrato AND especially Snyder) who are responsible for that are no longer involved with the player acquisitions or trades

we'll need to be patient but I think it's already obvious how different things are when you have NFL people running things - these guys are facing an uphill battle but they will figure out a way to get back to the top

While we're talking about good articles, check this one out about Shanahan, written in 1998 when he was winning SB's with the Broncos. I got the tingles reading it.
