I cant decide who I want the Skins to take with their 5th pick? Taylor is bound to become an immediate impact Pro Bowl caliber safety but Udeze fills a more glaring need and is a monster who had 16.5 sacks last year!

My theory is go BAP,Unless you are 1 glaring need away from a Super Bowl.

Taylor is the Better player,Udeze fills the bigger need.

You can't loose...Uless of course you blow the pick completly.

Dont Forget about Kellen Winslow jr. If we pick him up we will have an offense with all studs. He played with Portis at Miami, and in Gibbs' Offense he could have 45-65 catches, those are Pro Bowl numbers.

And also Gibbs was offensive coordinator to his dad in San Diego.

We are not really hurting at saftey, Bowen and Ohalete were solid, and I cant wait to see Bowen get out there and Blirz. But Taylor is also a stud. He is that Roy Williams type or player, who can change a ame.

I think that the only way we should gt a D lineman is if we trade down.

It's not like Taylor or Udezzi. It's Taylor or Udezzi and another future stud, because we would trade down to get Udezzi, and add another late first or early second rounder...

Taylor he is once in a lifetime. He will be better than Roy Williams. We look for a DE next year you can't build a superbowl team in one season.

I saw a mock draft yesterday (PFW I think) with the Raiders making a surprise pick up of Kellen Winslow Jr. with the #2 pick. Norv likes the TEs.

Go with Udezi, D line is the most pressing need. Yhen we can pick up another pick.

What if, over time, (hypothetically of course) Udeze becomes the equivilant of Charles Mann and Taylor becomes the equivilant of Kenny Houston. Probably best case scenario for both, but more likely for Taylor. Who do you prefer? Even with the more pressing need being D-Line, it'd be tough to choose Mann (possibly) over Houston (probably). But, then again, this comparison is a little out there, admittedly. Of course, frequently, great players go in later rounds while "can't miss" players...well...miss. Which would make my entire post moot.

If we get Sean Taylor are d-backs will only be better. But if we get Udezi then we will have at least something on the d-line.

And if the Dline is better the entire team - rushing defense and passing defense is affected.

Let's look at it from a different angle. Portis is a great back. BUT if the OLine was, say Detroit's or the Cardinal's... he wouldn't be worth as much. Now if the OLine is KC's, then he is worth more.

The same can be said on the defense. The core of the defense is not the secondary, nor the linebackers. The core is the DLine and one of the major components we have lacked for the last 12 years on defense has been the Dline.

Get a stud or two from the draft for the line and watch the defense gain by leaps and bounds. Safeties support the run defense, true, but usually from 3-5 yards away from the line of scrimmage - just like our LBs did last year - ick. They cover backs, tight ends and slot receivers. They are not the be all, end all of the defense.

I still have to point towards the line as the biggest part of the solution. We have some run stoppers, and now we need a pass rusher if they aren't planning on dropping LA and Washington into three point stances to pass rush on a constant basis.

Just watched the NFL Total Access show tonight, Udeze was on it. He seems like a great guy, spoke well about his family and was real down to earth. A real Joe Gibbs kind of guy. I'd love to have him, he fills a big need and he would be a quality player for years for us.

I was kind of split but after seeing them both on the NFL show I've got to say Udeze comes across as someone who's loves to play and is a really good guy.

I saw a Sean Taylor interview today on ESPN news. He seems to be a good, humble guy who is confident.
