What the hell - I might as well get this one started. If the Patriots let him go, I'll eat my own feet. But if they DO....................?

That's a lot of money that would be required for just the DTackle positions. I think he's going to want Haynes's money though.

IF he's available, and IF you think Haynesworth makes a good end in the 3-4, AND if money is no object, is it worth spending that money to get somebody who we know can anchor the middle of a 3-4?

Assuming a 3-4 defence is where this team is going?

We weren't put here - we swam here! ;-)

Anyway, back to the topic. I'm actually slightly surprised that nobody's suggested that we trade Haynesworth for Wilfork?!

We need Fat Al for DE. To trade him for another D lineman is not makin progress.

Sorry, sir, I'll stop bringing logic in to the equation.

That's a nice stopgap, but Daniels isn't going to be around much longer.

That's a terrible set of linebackers for a 3-4. Both Fletch and Blades are on the small side and both Rocky and Orakpo have little or no experience in a 3-4. It would be idiotic to have 4 starting linebackers that have never really played in a 3-4 before.

Wilson is certainly not an inside linebacker.

Are you just playing Happy Families there or what?! You can't just list random players and pretend that it's a sensible proposal for a defensive lineup.

Reasoning with G4L is pointless lol, just browse over and ignore.

Pick up Wilfork and draft Terrence Cody in the 2nd Round. Then pick up Shawne Merriman

Cody, Wilfork, Haynesworth

Orakpo, Rocky, Fletcher, Merriman

Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

Shawne Merriman will be a RESTRICTED free agent if a new CBA isn't reached (which it won't be). That means that the Redskins would have to hope that the Chargers don't match an offer, and then give up draft picks to get him if the Chargers didn't match. And it's safe to say that the draft pick given up would be significant.

And for what? The guy is not only a nuisance, but he had 4 sacks this year and hasn't really done anything but get hurt since he got busted for steroids. AND he's going to get pretty big money. (see Wilfork note below)

Sure this fits with the old Dan Snyder mentality, but hopefully not with the new regime's.

Vince Wilfork is a great player but will cost HUGE... and the Skins won't be good enough next year to warrant the cash layout. If we were closer to being competitive and had less holes to fill, then I would consider spending the money - but we aren't and we have lots of REAL holes to fill... QB, RB, WR, an entire offensive line almost, safety, cornerback, middle LB to take Fletch's place in the near future. Still, Wilfork is a possibility if Snyder is willing to spend the cash. Of course, then we better hope that there's never a salary cap ever again because we'd likely have 50-60% of it tied up in 7 or 8 of our 53 man roster. just because there might not be a cap next year, doesn't mean you blow the doors off because if a new CBA is reached with a similar cap, we'd just be hooped in 2011.

And Terrence Cody showed up at the Senior Bowl at over 370 pounds. He MAY be ready to play next year, and he may be available come the 2nd round, but this team needs OFFENSIVE LINEMEN out the wazoo. We can't start going willy nilly on defensive draft picks when we have so many offensive holes.

At least that's my opinion.
