I think that cutting Larry Moore was a good move. Not becuase of Salary cap but because I think he was horrible. I think they should send Trung, Chamberlain, and Trooter with him. What do you all think. David Terrell I have no opinion. I am actually unsure about him. I also want to state that I have been going on this site for a while but I just signed up today so I can talk. I am a big fan of this site and I am glad I get the oppertunity to talk to you guys.

Welcome aboard John.
I think Chamberlain, and Trotter will fit in better with this current coaching staff, especially Trotter. I actually thought he played pretty well last year in a really bad defensive schemed defense - does that make sense?
Terrell is gone - who cares. Trung could be a good backup, he doesn't save us much cap room.

I don't think either are going anywhere. IMO

I personally think Mitchell is better. I actually would rather have him. He is old but he is still good and when he is in their he doesn't make bad decisions and when he started under Marty he looked better than Trotter has since he's go here. Gibbs can just use Rock Cartwright as a H-back or Byran Johnson if we resign him. I haven't seen much of Robert Royal but I would like to give him a shoot at a recieving tight end. I don't think he is running the offense were tight ends get a lot of receptions the H-back does.

Royal had a hard time catching a cold the last stint in DC - keep him in to block. Mitchell is smart and older isn't a bad thing in this case - mentor some of the younger guys please.

If Royal has no hands I would wait until next year to find one, unless Taylor is taken and than I would draft Winslow. If Winslow isn't drafted than I would use the TE for blocking and use Johnson or Cartwright as a H-back and throw to them. You can only Mentor when you have a good young middle line backer. Trotter does not fit that mold. I know he was all everything in Philly. But the Eagles just let him go, why would a team let a young all pro middle linebacker go. Andy Reid is too smart to let someone go like that, he knew something about him the league didn't know. Mitchell is old but I believe a great team can't be built in one offseason. They will have to wait until next year to replace him if that is what they feel.

No, no, no. Please.
Trotter needs only direction to be back where he was. He had nothing here last year, and he panicked a lot. The year before that, he was too new.
Let me see him under Williams/Gibbs one season before you cut him and kill the cap.
I also think Royal is done for. Chamberlain will be fine once he loses that gut he's packing. Trung has to get a look, 'cause he's still on the cheap. Byner and Breaux (not in that order) will do all that homework and scouting for us. Terrell ? I don't know, either. Sometimes he's on, sometimes he's waaaay off. It's a gamble, and whether it's a worthy one depends on what he's costing us, cap-wise. I don't think he's a major issue.
Larry Moore will be a nice back-up somewhere. I wish him all the best.

Royal looked good catching the ball in Pre-season 2 years ago, and receiving was supposed to be his forte. Unfortunately, Royal has spent 2 years on IR now and is probably still pretty raw in his skills. He's pretty cheap, so why not keep him and see what Gibbs can do with him.

When healthy, Royal is really talented. I like him and Mitchell. Mitchell isn't too old and is very good at his spot. Chamberlain is not going to be cut for a while. Gibbs is keeping him to evaluate his conditioning.
Cutting Trotter would be a huge cap hit, so letting go of him isn't really an option.

There is no way Trotter is cut! He is only 27 and has huge cap # the next few years that we can afford to take a hit on! I think Trotter will have a good year this year!! Trung and David Terrell should go! Byron Chamberlain should stay when he was healthy with the Vikes he was a beast! If he loses some weight he will be great for us! he isnt going anywhere!

Can anyone confirm that Larry Moore has been cut? I haven't seen a reference to that anywhere other than this site. I have a sneaky suspicion that somebody saw that Scoot MOORE the hockey players was RELEASED from the hospital...
First time poster. I've been reading for about a month and enjoy the info. Trying to keep a level head going into this season, having been burned with previous free agent spending sprees, but it's pretty tough not be optimistic with Joe at the helm.

I think Trotter will be the most improved player on the team next year. He was noticably unhappy with the last coaching staff, and I think he's dying to show the new guys what he's got. I think we should keep Terrell just for ST.
