After hiring a new coach, hiring a true GM, and making improvments to FedEx Field, you have finally put "Professional" back in Redskins Pro Football.

Yes, Finally someone post a good note about the owner.(there have been few) Mr.Synder has made some good strides. This really is a man that wants HIS TEAM to be successful. Just as we all do. I know there were many times that the decisions he made might not have been the right one, But the man really does try. So Be Paitient. Things will come togther. Good Luck in 2010! HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!

I hold my praise to see what happens in the off-season. I do agree that it appears that he's making large strides in teh right direction, it's too short of a time to deem him changed just yet. I call myself (as I always do) cautiously optimistic.

I've argued for years that at least he was improving and that the criticism of him was way overblown. But what he did to the team this year by cutting Zorn off at the knees and publicly hiring Lewis to call plays over the head coach shows that there is just something clearly, deeply wrong with him.

Kaz, Zorn was HORRIBLE at calling plays. We needed someone else to call those plays. Seriosuly, you think he was adequate as a playcaller?

Thank you Snyder for listening to the public and reading the message boards. Also, thank you for finally doing what we have been telling you for years.
My question to you though Snyder, it really took all this for you to turn around with your crazy ways??
Oh well, its progress and its no longer in his hands

sorry Vet - Zorn's ability to coach or call plays is not the real issue - Snyder & Cerrato brought him in and put him in the position with no players and then treated him in a way that no NFL coach, player or FO person should be treated
Zorn may or may not make it elsewhere but how he was treated and supported by both Cerrato and Snyder is inexcusable
Zorn is well regarded - I leave it up to you as how Snyder should be perceived

You're absolutely right. Terrible way to treat a person.
Zorn is well regarded
As a QB coach, yes. As anything more...no, he's not well-regarded.
Doesn't excuse the crappy behavior, but still.

I really believe that was Vinny's call. Vinny is a low class, talentless, nincompoop. Wow....I've never used that word in a sentence before but it fits here.

Mr Snyder? Is that you?
Just kidding. I was a Snyder fan. I supported him, stood up for him, thought he meant well, but there were things that came up that I could only attribute to him and I bashed him quite a bit this year. As soon as I started, he fired Vinny. You're welcome.

I'm not saying that he's good at anything - I think Cerrato & Snyder brought him in hoping that he would help both our offense and specifically Campbell - he did not do very well here, that's for sure, but I think the coaching fraternity thinks a lot more of Zorn and what he has to offer than many here do
all I was pointing out is that Zorn was treated horribly by Snyder - he obviously was out of his depth and I'm not sure he's as good as Holmgren and others think but I'm fairly sure he will get another opportunity but I doubt he'll ever be a HC which actually is more of a reflection of Snyder's stupidity than Zorn's inadequacies

Thank you, Mr Snyder for what appears to be going on here - HOWEVER, no matter what happens with this franchise, in my opinion, Snyder is still a low-life, scum, because of how he has managed this franchise and especially because of how badly he has treated so many people in the NFL

Agree totally...and yes Zorn is well reguarded as a MAN around the league...I laugh when people talk about his leadership ability...I defy anyone to try and lead under the rule of Snyderatto!

I stand by my statement. He couldn't call plays for spit. I don't recall anyone being upset about someone else other than Zorn calling the plays. It was quite wrong on how they took his playcalling abilities, but he still did not deserve to call plays.

If he is so highly regarded, why hasn't someone hired him? There have been many openings.

Agreed. On top of being a horrible play caller, he wasn't good at using the talent given to him.

Zorn sucked at calling plays, that has nothing to do with it. It's about undercutting the leader of the team. I have no problem with Snyder instructing Zorn that he will hire someone or even he will hire Lewis. Snyder just needs do it in private and have Zorn do the hire in public.
I have no issue with Snyder canning Zorn if he refused even during the season for insubordination even though I've been a staunch opponent of firing Zorn before the season is over. Insubordination being reasonable justification and Snyder owns the team. But to undercut him by doing it himself publicly smacks of huge Snyder ego and need for attention and leaves Zorn dangling in the wind, as happened, and is just horrible management.

You could well be right, but for a decision that big Snyder had to have signed off on it. No matter how much it was Vinny's fault as well, it changes nothing about what the move said about Snyder. And Lewis was p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c as well for agreeing to participate in that fiasco. His answer to Snyder/Vinny should have been, "Have Zorn make this call and it's a deal."

Gibbs could do it, but there's a reason he's in the Hall of Fame. No normal man, even with great ability, could handle it. I'm just glad that it's over.

This thread is about Snyder - I'm hopeful about our future but the fact remains he and Cerrato are the ONLY reason we are a 4-12 franchise - the fact that we have no team just a group of talented athletes is ALL because of the managing of this franchise by those 2
GET OFF THE ZORN issue - he and a lot of other coaches did not do well BUT the whole problem here is due to Snyder & Cerrato
so again - thanks may be due but I'll still hold him in contempt for what he has done - NOTHING changes the fact he's a low life, scum
hopefully in a few years the current guys can get this franchise to put a consistently competitive product on the field but it is going to be a few years BECAUSE of Snyder & Cerrato's ego & stupidity

Snyder and Allen are doing a fabulous job right now managing the team. With all that could be said about the past coaching staff and other players by the team, Allen has put a lid on it. You haven't heard a peep. I love the direction right now. It's a professional organization.
for that, thanks Dan. Keep it up.

That was my point for starting this thread. Snyder seems to have learned from past mistakes. Look at someone like Al Davis who never learns from his past mistakes.
Hopefully as an organization, we've turned the corner.
Now go out there an bring us a championship...damn it.

Snyder worshiped Gibbs but even in the end he did things that I think even Gibbs didin't like. Everyone will point to Gibbs' full support of Snyder but what do you think he's going to do??? Gibbs understands that Snyder will be here long after he's gone so he is trying to help the franchise by staying positive. The dissapointing thing for me was seeing Snyder spend 4 years with Gibbs and than treating Zorn the way he did...we all want to believe he learned a thing or two from Gibbs but this season suggests otherwise??

I get your point but I didn't know he was a billionaire when he brought the Skins???
