Alex Gibbs goes to Seattle

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

New Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has hired Alex Gibbs to join the team as an assistant head coach, according to sources.

Gibbs would oversee Seattle's offensive line zone run-block system that will be compatible with the scheme that will be coordinated by Jeremy Bates, the sources said.

Gibbs has been serving that current position with the Houston Texans, but sources say he embraced an opportunity from the Seahawks and accepted their offer to join the staff. Gibbs is among the most reputable line coaches in NFL history.

This ticks me off; why are we sitting on our thumbs while Carroll steals the perfect fit for Oline coach!!!!! We might need to beg Buges to stick around.

That really sucks because now he's gone and Dennison was being persued by Hou.....I dont really know who else run this ZBS, but as a new system and something we have never done before you really need stellar coaches

There may be someone else that Shanny is targeting to come in that we just don't know about. I kinda like a new mix of coaches instead of Denver retreaded.

Conventional wisdom would say if we wanted AlexG we would have AlexG; there must be someone else Shanny has in mind, but when it comes to teaching ZBS Alex Gibbs is the master.

I hate to say this, but I want Bugel gone as well. We need a fresh approach and eyes on these guys. Who comes in? I have no idea, but I know that I want a complete overhaul of this coaching staff.

You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.
