I was happy when Cerrato was fired and the front office began to turn a corner, then they brought in a "football" GM and a "football" head coach, this is what I wanted for Christmas, Bring on 2010!!!

Redskin Nation... let's be patient and give Shany-tan some time.
Off to a great start though boys. No more compliants.
We have our GM, a TRUE NFL coach and some deep pockets... now let's get to work; hate to see the Pukes take the east. We'll be there soon enough.
HAIL!!!

I voted wait and see but I am very hopeful that we are heading in the right direction - the combination of Allen as GM and Shanahan as HC and executive VP could be just what we need
Shanahan is an offensive minded coach which we need and he's very strict with his players which is something else that has been lacking here
Hail to the Redskins - hopefully we shall see this franchise managed properly for the first time in over a decade

For me I don't know what I will do if this does not work out due to Snyder's meddling. I hope that Snyder has learned, I think he has but if not it will beee really disappointing.

So far I'm happy with the steps that Snyder has taken in the past few weeks(if Allen & Shanny are really running the show now). Now I'm just waiting to see who all gets the axe...I'm thinking and hoping that they clean house with coaches and players.

Like I told my buddy last night, "wake me up when the first game of the season starts, until than just let me get some sleep and pretend I'm watching Doug Williams @ RFK"
.. so I obviously selected wait and see.. I'm not convinced about ANY coach until they do something HERE.. but I am giddy we got Shaannanananahan

I've learned from the past. RESERVED OPTIMISM works for me.

I'm interested in finding out whats in store as far as Shany's scheme goes. That way when we start drafting kickers and WR's I wont get as upset. I'm kidding, we wouldn't do that right....?

I am excited as all get out that Shanny is here, however just like a touchy joke, too soon to think about 2010.

I'm excited for the Skins' future, not necessarily 2010. I think that the additions of Shanahan and Allen are great. All we need now is a good personnel guy and good coordinators and I think that it will be a great start for our rebuild.
For 2010 I don't have any great hopes and I'll be amazed if Shanahan can get us in the 7-9, 8-8 range. Contrary to what most fans think, I'm off the opinion that there is a major lack of talent on this team and it's going to take the staff a couple of years to correct that IMO. We need a new qb, we need to rebuild the oline, we need to add speed and playmakers on offense (namely rb and probably wide receiver). On defense, we need a real SAM and probably need to rebuild our secondary. As far as special teams are concerned, we need to replace ARE and Rock and find players that can actually make plays. This is not a one year rebuild.

Pretty much. That's as far as I'm willing to go.

Canes, I pretty much agree with what you're saying. Fans need to be patient in 2010, shouldn't be automatically expecting some big playoff run or anything. This team has some problems and its going to take some time to fix.
On the bright side, we just finised a terrible 4-12 season. Does anybody think Shanahan can't do better than that?
I voted happy as a clam for a couple reasons btw. Getting rid of Vinny was a huge step in my book. And whatever the knocks are on Mike Shanahan, he had a long stretch in Denver of fielding pretty good teams. Whether he gets us to a SB or not, I would gladly take having a competitive team every year so I can look forward to watching our Skins play each Sunday.
