How about acquiring Brandon Marshall......?

It seems that the McDaniels vs. Marshall feud may NEVER end. How about we try to get Marshall in the off season - if he's available. That guy is a STUD. It may happen if Shanahan comes to DC.
"Our word for the week has been accountability. And we're looking to put the 45 guys on the field on Sunday that want to play together, want to help us try to win and qualify for the playoffs," McDaniels said. "... And anybody that showed any indifference to that, we'll play without them.
For more on the Denver Broncos, check out the latest from our bloggers.
Marshall suggested that he couldn't have played anyway after pulling his right hamstring at practice this week.
In an extraordinary half-hour at Dove Valley, McDaniels insinuated on the podium that Marshall was exaggerating the extent of his injury and was unaccountable to the team. Marshall responded from his locker by noting McDaniels never played in the NFL and hinting that he might be getting called out by his coach because the Broncos' season is unraveling.

I really don't want any players who have been involved in any kind of "feud" with their coaching staff. No matter what the full truth of the situation is, these players don't usually make good teammates.

No matter what the truth is, you don't want anyone who's had a disagreement with the coaching staff... you realize how silly that is right?
Bottom line is, if we have a shot at an elite talent like Brandon Marshall, we pick him up.

Disagreement is a very different word to feud. And private disagreements happen all the time, and are inevitable when you have a squad of ambitious and somewhat arrogant individuals being molded into a team.
But when anything becomes public, it is at best unfortunate or unwise, and at worst is a symptom of the sort of character traits that don't work well when trying to build a team.
And that principle applies to coaches as well. I don't think McDaniels comes out of any of this well, and I don't think Blache comes out of the Haynesworth situation all that well. Conflict and tension like this are not good components to the team dynamic. There are successful exceptions - Bill Parcells seemed to thrive on running his teams that way, but generally conflict and selfishness don't work out well.

After a little more research on the subject, I will say this - Josh McDaniels isn't fit for purpose. He may well have messed up this call.
Nevertherless, the history of Brandon Marshall is generously sprinkled with enough warning signs to suggest that the Redskins should stay well clear.
Talent stands for an awful lot in this league, but it isn't everything.

Isn't BM in the same boat as JC Denver can match...and to get him you're giving up at least a first!
Brandon Marshall

Just saw on NFL Network that Brandon has been benched in Denver after McDaniels accused him of faking a hamstring injury.
I wouldn't mind targeting Marshall via trade. He's a legit #1

You guys are forgetting something. Shanahan drafted Marshall. Shanahan coached Marshall for most of Marshals career. If there is any coach Marshal will listen to I am sure it is Shanahan. With all reports saying we are getting Shanahan. I would not be surprised to see Marshal in a Redskins uniform next year.
Brandon Marshall is one of the top receivers in the league. I say its Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshall and Larry Fitzgerald. We would be crazy not to get Marshall if we could. Especially if we have Shanahan the man who drafted and coached Marshall.

That's what I'm saying. Who knows....... perhaps Shannahan and Marshall or agent may have already discussed options on the phone....
I like the sound of that...!!!

I'm not forgetting about Shanahan at all. But what I'd really like to see in Washington is a group of players who are all committed to winning as a team. A player like Marshall will NOT be happy playing for a struggling team, and that's what Washington will be for a while yet. He'd be great if we have an offensive line, quarterback and running game. But until we've got them, then let's leave the splashy free agent wide receivers alone?

it will also be interesting to see what Shanahan will do about T Owens - you can bet that the Danny would love the splash and it won't cost anything except money

If we go after Brandon Marshall, we will do so at the expense of building depth on the OL and getting a good look at quality for the RB position. There is no way around it: BM for the Skins = more top-heaviness in our depth chart.

That's like owning a ferrari but living on a dirt road. They don't go together. We don't have an offensive line - at all. Before you buy the ferrari, you've got to pave the road. When that's done, then you can get that. But if were were to go after BM, we would lose our 1st rd pick - no doubt about it.

True, that's why you have to go the free agent route. T.O.!

I don't want any drama-laced players...and Marshall will cost too much.

Will he be worth what he's going to ask? Doubt it. Granted, I know it's not my money, but we've been so frivolous in the past, I'd like us to start making smart choices. And I don't think Marshall is one of them.

Let's trade the 4th pick for a diva wide reciever? Maybe Buffalo will take our 2nd rounder for T.O. and Dallas will take a 3rd for Roy Williams. Then we can sign Patrick Ramsey back since he was in Denver with Shanny to throw them the ball. What great times are ahead.

We don't have a third.

I was reading on serveral web sites that Shannahan was tired of Marshall too. He knew he was a problem player. So I dont know if he would bring him to DC if he comes.
