like to have Indy's problem right now? I was just on another site and the Indy fans are sounding like their "lickered-up kicker" from a few years ago, blasting both Caldwell and Polian.
As a fan of this team, I'd love and would appreciate being in their shoes right now. Yes going for the perfect season is great but this Indy team doesn't have the swagger and the "blow out" ability of that Patriots team. Had they been up 35 by the time Caldwell took them out, then it wouldn'be a big deal. But that team doesn't have that and they had to claw with the Jets, thus putting their starters in harm's way. By the middle of the third against that Patriots team, Brady and Moss would have been sipping Mai-Tai's on the sideline.
I'm sure that everybody on this board would love to have the "lickered-up" Indy Fan's problem right now...

I have to agree with the Indy fans. You should never intentionally give away a game. Every single undefeated team in years past went for it.
The Bears in 85 went for it all. The Skins in 91 went for it all. The Patriots of 07 went for it all. They all tried and but lost the one game. In Indys case they sat there starters. Throwing in a rookie with virtually no experience conceding the game to the Jets.
Huge, titanic, colossal mistake. What message are they sending there players.
If I were the owner I would have fired the head coach after that game.

The above comment is almost as crazy as your usual comments about bringing back Lavar.
...almost.
Caldwell is a first year head coach who's poised to lead his team to the Super Bowl!
At the very least, an 18-1 record for the Colts would be more satisfying than the one the Patriots recorded a few years ago.

I think Indy will now blow it all. I think the Chargers or even the Patriots will beat Indy. Remember Indy and New England had a close game the first time around. We will see though. I am going out on a limb and saying the Colts will lose in there first playoff game.

As long as Peyton Manning is there running the offense, I think I could probably coach them to the play-offs. LOL

In all honesty I agree.

If they don't win the SB because of this, to me, 14-0 and 23-0 is a sham.... You are pro's. And if you are going to work that hard and then whine, pout, bitch and moan because your coach decided to rest you to prevent injury, then you are not "who you thought you were".....

I actually disagree. What matters most to that team is winning a Super Bowl, not finishing the season undefeated. This wasn't a coaching decision, it was an organizational decision made by Bill Polian, who is arguably the best executive in the game. Sure the fans are upset, but how much more upset would they be if Manning had gotten hurt in the second half of that game and they had to go into the playoffs with Curtis Painter as their qb. Seeing how awful Painter was should be more than enough to convince people that they made the right decision.
Obviously they are still playing for something, but how to do you think the Eagles feel about their starting Center blowing out his ACL this late in the season?

That is fine. I agree to disagree.
My main point is you play to win the game. At any moment in the season you can get hurt. Those are my two main points.
Does not matter how good Bill Polian is. The principles remain the same.

Anyone can get hurt on any play. You can't play to 'save' your players from injury. Look at how

ey got hurt.
and more importantly than resting starters is this thing called momentum. 14-0 is HUGE momentum. Pulling them week 16, and virtually sitting them for the game in week 17 is a lot of down time when you come in to sudden death playoff time. I disagree with pulling starters the way they were in Indy last week.
