As always: if I can spot cursing, so can a ten-year old.
Only one more game to this sorry season. Good.

Shut out at home against the hated Cowboys in a game where our rival clinches a playoff spot. Can it get any worse than that? Maybe it can.

So what is there to discuss? Heading for the fridge and the cold pain relief. Time to lock this puppy up and put it to bed.

Watching every game this year, it's hard to see how the D ranks as good as it did. I do think it just needs tweaking.
Carlos Rogers might be better at free safety and we'll need to get a new corner. We need to put Orakpo on the line more, and our we need timely aggressiveness (bye-bye to Blache mentality).

On offense, we need explosiveness/speed. Moss is the closest we have to it, but he isn't enough anymore. A back that can hit a home run, and some lineman to open up some holes.
I don't think QB is a high priority, but I wouldn't spend anymore money to keep JC. Someone who can play ball control and actually hit a deep ball here and there would be good.

Rogers would be an awful free safety. Orakpo needs to put his hand down. Between Orakpo and Wilson its goodbye to Daniels. younger more aggressive players please.

today's game pretty much summed up the whole season, defense was so-so, offense never showed up. Apart from one game against a team even worse than ours (raiders) which gave a false dawn, we have stunk up the league .
Been supporting the skins since 82, this team is easily the worse I've seen.
get shanahan appointed and get on with sorting the team for next season.
We may beat the bolts next week, they will be resting a few of their starters..

I don't see Norv letting that happen.

Blowing up the team sounds great, but we'll have to make due with some existing players even if they aren't the greatest. I can't imagine many players doing worse than Landry at FS. Doughty, although working really hard and our current best option, has shown that he just doesn't have the range or speed.
Carlos came out of Auburn as a good tackler, with corner speed. He was never known for his cover skills. He might do better watching the QB instead of running step for step with wideouts. Just a thought of something to try.

Let's get to January 4, 2010 and the beginning of the Mike Shanahan era of Redskin football. This season is garbage we lose next Sunday without question. Zorn is an unmitigated disaster and the team is ready to go their separate ways come the off-season. The looming uncapped year means Washington can unload several large contracts without ramifications. It's time to begin 2010.

I know everyone has an opinion ... but I'm not sure many of them are based on the reality of what is happening on the field.
The majority of the comments seem to be mainly criticizing the defense, and I wonder just what part of 17-0 is escaping notice.
Sure, there are defensive issues, and I think they can be tied directly to Landry and Rogers, and may even be why Blache is reluctant to dial up more pressure ... he doesn't trust their coverage skills. I mean .. the way Landry was beat and out run by a tight end is MIND BOGGLING! Landry is a LOSER.
The o-line is certainly a problem, and why wouldn't it be when you've had 10 different guys playing. But that's no excuse for a QB who cannot even throw a hitch pattern accurately.
Campbell's int was the result of an inaccurate, high and wide pass, and he had time to throw. The intentional grounding ... the lack of football awareness with a safety creeping up to fill for a corner blitz, and the subsequent blindside hit was on Campbell and NO ONE ELSE. These are the things you cannot blame on the o-line, and should not be happening to an experienced 4th year QB ... that's the type of thing you expect with with a rookie ... not a vet.
No, Campbell, Landry and Rogers are three first round pick busts, and no team can waste three 1st rounders in a row and not pay a price. They're paying the price now .. and they need to rid themselves of these ineffective players.

I agree that Oline is the priority BUT...
We can't afford to miss with our top 5 pick &...
The talent differential at OL from no.5 to no.55 is not as drastic as other positions at which we have equal need specifically QB RB S CB

Anyone who still thinks that the only reason LL was ineffective was because he playing out of position is kidding themselves. This guy stinks, and we would be smart to try and get anything for him in the offseason. The fact that he let the slowest TE in the league burn him for an 80 yard play sealed it for me. I hope to never see him in a Skins uniform after this season.

He got burnt, but Witten is hardly the slowest TE in the league. We have enough to complain about, don't go making up gradeschool stories...
and if Hall, Rogers, Landry, ect, seem to have issues, did you ever think that if could be a COACHING issue? NEVER? I didn't think so.

If your sticking up for LL than you need to watch the games more closely. Witten's catches this season rarely go for more than 10 yards and there's a reason for that.......because he runs like he has a piano on his back. If you're a safety and you can't cover a TE who doesn't run very well, its time to find another job. Don't talk to me about coaching, he was in man coverage and got toasted. That's not coaching.
