The Shanahan Plan

I'm curious how this team's offense will look under MS.

I heard Kyle Shanahan talk about how they run a zone scheme based on Speed and stretching people.

Thats all good if you have the speed.

I don't think Portis has the speed he had in Denver; and none of our other RB's are speedy guys. Which leads me to believe our #1 should be a burner at RB like CJ Spiller or Jahvid Best.

I know when Cutler was with MS they threw the ball alot.

I feel like Mike S. comes in, overhauls the OL and drafts a RB; keeps Campbell and says lets go.

MS will not keep Campbell. Deep passes happen to exist in his playbook.

We really should have just gotten Cutler... This Shannahan thing would be so much quicker to get over with.

I don't see throwing the deep ball as a weakness for JCam when protected. Jason biggest flaw is his inability to feel pressure and elude it.
Maybe in a MS offense where he can play action alot more he'll excel?

I honeslty don't know what to say anymore... Maybe you went to Auburn or something.

BTW that's not a personal shot at you, I just can't have a serious discussion with anyone who supports Campbell anymore.

I do like Jahvid Best though, but do you think MS will go for a 1st round RB or maybe scoop up two speed guys in the later rounds? I'm leaning towards an O-lineman in the first round.

Because nothing says "I have a serious understanding of football in 2009" like wanting to draft a running back with a concussion history with a first-day pick...

(though, I have complete confidence that it wouldn't have mattered if it WAS Shannahan... #17 was on a mission that day, and Tim Smith was running tthrough holes the size of airplane hangar doors  )

Terrell Davis couldn't get anything going either.

 Those were the days when John Elway would get to the SuperBowl and just get trounced by the NFC. I also remember the Broncos and 49ers SuperBowl when John Elway walked off the field with a look you can never forget.
If that were Shanahan he would be as old as Gibbs is now. Come on Manchester that was pretty funny though!

we cannot waste our pick on skilled positions such as running backs we need OL help. That is our problem is our OL. If we take care of that we are going to be OK. Maybe with Allen we will use our picks alot wiser.

I'd love to see CJ Spiller wearing B&G. But we cannot pick another RB when we need an O line player. IMO we should grab Rendrick Taylor from Clemson in the late round. He was a reciever, became TE, and now a FB. He'd be perfect to groom behind sellers.

YOU DON"T
Really :?:

Too me, for someone with his arm, he is one of the worst deep passer I have ever seen! If he hits one out of fve deep throws he is having a good day. He typically throws 1 out of 10 deep throws close to perfect.

JC's biggest weekness is the speed at which he does ANYTHING. How he reads deffenses, how he drops back, how he delivers the ball, ... His second biggests weakness is his deep ball. He doesn't throw it very often and when he does there is a very good chance it won't be completed even if his player is wide open. So defenses aren't scared to get beat deep by the Skins and play close to the line of scrimage.

Agreed and the coaches know it..How many of his passes are <10 yards

On how many deep passes has JC hit his man IN STRIDE, and leading him in a direction to continue towards the goal line?

The question is rhretorical, by the way... we know that the answer is "not enough to require the use of both hands to count".

But the follow up to your question is "How many deep passes has Campbell attempted where he had time for the play to develop without being hit, hurried or chased in the pocket?" The answer to both questions is roughly the same.

You would need all of your fingers and toes (and still run out) to count that!

Over the past 4 games, I have seen at least 5 plays where Campbell had time to make the deep throw without harrassment... and still threw short, so that the receiver had to wait for the ball, or found himself being led out of bounds. The result was a tackle or incompletion when it should have been a TD...
