MNF preview - Dec. 21st, NY Giants @ the Washington Redskins

going to be fun tonight listening to these guys hyping the media darling, NY Giants coming in to play our Washington Redskins - especially after the loss last night and the fact that the Redskins have seemed to turn it up a notch or 2 the last 5 games
time for another interview with Mr Gruden perhaps but I wish the hype was more about who is going to be in charge here next year instead of trying to make out like this franchise has any sort of a prayer next year if they just stay the course

I hope the boys go out there and put on a show against the giants, we own 'em a whopping or two.

If the Giants DL plays well, we may not stand much of a chance.

We've competed and stayed with good teams. The state of affairs the Giants are currently in, I don't think they are that tough currently.

Before the last game I predicted we'd win 2 of the last 4 - now that we are begining to look like an offensive juggernaut and with our defense aroused I'm still thinking we win 1 of the next 3 but I would love to see these guys win all 3 - can you imagine - I can't wait to hear the interview with Cerrato as he's let go that he thought the team was heading in the right direction ... blah de blah de blah
we do need to get rid of Cerrato and we do need a GM with control over all players and coaches - nobody better forget that - this fan base should be sick and tired of mediocrity which is what we get if we let these 2 bozos keep running things here
was it only a few months ago that many were predicting 10-6 or even 11-5 - this group of players is a joke - we do not win games because we are a better team, we win when we get lucky - we need to get people in here that know what they are doing and can make this franchise be consistently competitive

Call me crazy but I think that the team is playing more like a "TEAM" than at the start of the season. I think a lot of the off the field stuff had a lot to do with the season being so bad but I would love nothing more than to see us win 2 out of 3 (a loss to SD b/c they are my 2nd team I root for and they have playoff implications).

you're not crazy, but .....
I agree that we have seen this group play better but that does not mean very much to me - I'll explain - we need a team that is consistently competitive, what we are seeing is a bunch of guys taking advantage of an opportunity to play and some good play by our group that have played well recently BUT against teams that have not played well - we need a GM to come in here and assemble a group of players so that they have a chance of being competitive consistently and the guys in charge here have no credibility in even begining to know who to bring here to not only play but make the other players better
the ONLY bad thing about our success right now is that it might mean that some ("Suckers for Snyder - Idiots List") will think this team could be competitive consistently against the NFC East teams when they are playing well
WAKE UP EVERYBODY - this team needs to do major work on building an offensive line that can stand up for 16 weeks - these guys don't even come close - we have to get some really good players in AND we need depth

Here's the title of the thread, in case people forget: MNF preview - Dec. 21st, NY Giants @ the Washington Redskins.
This is a preview discussion of our next game. Not another hijacked thread about Vinny and Danny.
Back to the topic, a coworker who appears to be an intelligent person (what are the odds?) says he's worried about his Giants for the rest of the year. The Gnats defense is crap and Eli is good for one boneheaded play per game. As much as I don't want to screw our draft position anymore, we DO have two more division games including this Gnats game. And with the way both teams are going, we have a moderately good chance to win!

One win by the second MOST dysfunctional franchise in the NFL against the first MOST dysfuntional franchise in the entire NFL and some fans are all cheered up ...

Good for you guys.
Nothing like a healthy dose of REALITY to bring fans back to plant their feet on solid ground again.
Incredible how a single win changes the mood and overall outlook of some fans.
Superbowl !!!

I'm still hopeful that we can get lucky again the next 2 weeks - we should not beat the Giants or the Pukes based on talent or being a better team but we could get lucky like the 49ers did against the Cardinals - we are a lot closer to these 2 than they are to the Cardinals - the difference is that the 49ers played very well and deserved to win - we are not a franchise that deserves to win but we can get lucky
gotta love divisional games - they just seem to be better to watch
I hate the Giants more than any other team - it's a NY thing, I guess

here's to hoping our defense takes out Manning and that Coughlin has a breakdown caused by stress on the sideline

Never happy are ya? I don't see anyone claiming super bowl, but if these are fundemantal changes since Zorn stopped calling plays (which this is disputable evidence to support that), then why NOT have a little bit if hope? I can't control Vinny and Danny, and Lord knows there are a few people here who cannot focus on ANYTHING ELSE BUT VINNY AND DANNY, but some of us can.
If we go out strong this year, and begin where we left off (which is what a ran should hope for in our place) next year, then I'm happy. Stop patronizing...

I do not think so.
NONE oif my posts above include ANY reference to the clowns. Two consecutive posts of yours DO.
If you are going to call me, do it with proof in the right thread.

Do not worry Vet. In a few weeks, there will be no Zorn, no Sherm Lewis, no Campbell and no Portis to worry about.
EVERYTHING needs to change in order to stay the same *.

Just b/c I quote you doesn't mean that EVERYTHING IN THE REPLY is addressed to you. Guilty conscience maybe?

Vet that was my thinking until this year…finding out that DS is more involved then with just picking the players…now we find out that he’s involved on game days as well. How can we have a serious discussion about the coaches or players when it DS making all the calls.

I missed where he was involved in game day decisions... enlighten me?

MNF will be all over the Cerrato deal - how great an opportunity for some positives - Vinny's gone and this franchise is much better for it

I guess you miseed, as an example, the decision by DS to play ARE at punt returns once he had been demoted eh?

All I know is we put 30 points on the board against the Saints, (who employ our old defensive coordinator) and would have won if not for flukes or a kicker with nerve like a wet noodle. Without one of those, the outcome would have been different. I expect this team to beat the Giants.
Zorn's record is poor, but you have to give him a lot of credit for getting these guys to play hungry, spirited football with no shot at the playoffs. Better playcalling may be the difference against NY this time around.

Sentimental fool like me, I said SB next year.. I also think we'll win this game Monday night because 1, VC is gone and the fans are cissed about it (crowd more excited).. 2, it's Monday night football @ home.. 3, not just vs the raiders but look how much better we've played in the last couple of games before that.. 4, many of us may not know who the guy was but since I'm sentimental, it's George Allen's son..
I don't know fellas, I'm just cissed about this game because even if it doesn't mean anything this year I just want to go out winning.

I don't give Zorn credit for the offense, since his offense was inept. I give all the credit to Lewis. I give Zorn even less credit b/c he can't motivate his defense to keep playing at the level they were when the offense decided to step up.
