With Davis playing better and better....what becomes of Chris Cooley...???

Man, Cooley is one of my FAVS in the whole NFL. I hope we can keep them both.

you have to be kidding - both players can succeed here - we just need to have some offensive coaches and co-ordinators that know what they're doing and how to use both of these guys at the positions that help the offense

I think Cooley ends up a reality TV star/host. But, why not have TWO excellent tight ends, in case one gets hurt?

NO Cooley's Job is safe, Cooley should be happy cause Davis is actaully stepping up and they invisioned two good TE's when we drafted him. If D's have to worry about both they will both do better.

The team will have a legit two tight end threat. Great to see.

Good thing to have both TEs.

They drafted Davis to have 2 quality TE's, it appears that has happened. Cooley better stay!

What everyone else said.
I don't see anything wrong with having two quality TEs.

Cooley will back and ready to go come mini-camp. Having both Cooley and Davis only makes the Skins better. Also, Yoder adds a third-dimension as a blocker to the group.

The team does not need Cooley. He is a "nice to have", but he doesn't carry the team.

In fact, Davis looks like a better receiver, more able to get open. Cooley looks more like the guy who slips open when the defense concentrates on the WRs.

You guys are crazy stop thinking with ur hearts and think with your brain. If we can get a 1st rounder for Cooley I am all for it, WE NEED LINEMAN oh yeah and when was the last time there was a dynamic TE duo. Come on people, I love Cooley but I also know that we need a lot in this upcoming draft and if Davis is going to be beyond serviceable and we can get good value for Cooley...Adios, Its not personal its just good business. Yall just mad because youre going to need a new cliche jersey to wear.

There is no doubt, having two blue chip TE's creates opportunities for deals. However... there is no way anyone is giving up a first round pick for one of them.

You don't trade a Pro Bowl TE for just a first rounder, 1 and a 3 at least

Funny man!

The only person in the world who makes that trade for a TE is Ditka... and he got his butt fired for that.

I would even take a 2nd rounder for Cooley, thats what the Giants got for Shockey right?

No one in the NFL carries his team.

Thank you... that's about the best you'll get for an excellent tight end.

I'm the guy who weeks ago posted that we need to trade Cooley and Andre Carter for early 2nd round picks. I got run out of town on the Cooley idea.

I believe Carter's 11 sacks will get us a 2nd rounder and Cooley will definetly get us that. I know it's hard to make trades but with the possible no cap year coming up, maybe we can do it.

I'd even trade these guys for a starting quality:
1) strong-side LB (Orakpo needs to start at RDE);
2) free safety (Landry needs to play SS);
3) Center (a guy who can take over for Rabach in 2011); OR
4) running back (a bigger back we can pair with Ganther).

Having two quality TEs is a luxary on a 4-9 team. We need other stuff badly.

Cooley on the Jets -- I can see it happen!

i don't think that we should trade cooley for a draft pick, i think we should try to get an established player in a need position, like a off tackle. If you can manage to couple him with a draft pick then i bet you can get an elite tackle and sure up the line going forward since there isnt much that is going to be there early in the draft

all good suggestions but all we really need is a GM to come in here and see what he can do - if there's any trades to be made we need to make sure the call is not made by the idiots presently in charge

=D> With the uncertainty of the CBA this off-season has some tough decision to be made and I don't want Dan and Vinny making them!

Davis is a better athlete than Cooley. I don't see a need to jettison Cooley just yet. The offense looks good, we're seeing who can play on the line now. We'll have a couple guys back from IR next year + some good drafting will put us back on track.

No need to go nuts.

Better athlete? maybe. Better football player? no.

I know it seems like Cooley's been around forever, but the guy's only 27. Unless the Skins are rebuilding for a run at Super Bowl L, trading him would be idiocy for anything less than a blockbuster deal (a 1st-plus), and that's not going to happen.

There's no room for debate that Davis is the better athelete. He's faster and a lot more nimble than Cooley and breaks tackles just as well. And that's not a knock on Cooley who is a monster.

Now explain how Cooley is a better "player".
