Why can't Vinny tear a ligament and be put on IR?

I just heard via Phillip Daniels' FB page. This is horrible news. Hopefully he's a fast healer. It takes 2 years to come back from this injury 100% typically.

This really stinks but like some other injuries we've seen this year, it creates opportunities for other players. Rob Jackson was brought up from the PS to fill his spot in the dline rotation. I hope that he'll be active Sunday instead of Wynn so we can see if this is a guy we want to sign to a longer term deal. He's young and I'm not sure if he'll be PS eligible next season.

I've liked Rob Jackson, too, and I don't think he's had too much of an opportunity thus far. I hope he excels and we have TOO MANY DEs to deal with

I really like what Jarmon has done this year and thought that he would be a dominant force for years once he got a full year (including camp) under his belt. Remember, he wasn't suppose to contribute at all this year.

I just hope that he can come back from this.

man you never like to see a young guy go down...and he was one of the bright young bright spots that you could see the team building around going forward. I hope the best for him

It's only a torn ACL. Guys come back. I wouldn't expect big things from him next year but he will come in very good shape though. With all the rehab that goes along with the injury, he should build on speed and strength.

It seems like when the team is losing more and more injuries stack up for the season. The IR list for the bad teams is much longer than say a team like the Colts or Saints. Just a thought...

I will admit with Vinny on one thing. There is going to be a fall off in talent when a guy goes down. It shouldn't be as much as we've seen. Thankfully Levi was still available as he's proven to be very valuable so far since he's been in the lineup - except this weekend but I would hate to see more of Heyer at LT.
