In the Broncos v Redskins post-game discussion thread, I read several posts the began much like CLL's did:

'Lover Lover' wrote:I didn't get to watch the game...

Chris' was maybe the 4th or fifth comment like this one, thru roughly 4 pages of the thread, and it made me wonder WHY did they "not get to watch the game"? Did it occur voluntarily or involuntarily?

After all, I, too, "didn't get to watch the game," but it was by choice. I thought the Skins would get beaten at home, and it would be a repeat of the previous four weeks.

Instead of watching an impressive win with the Skins, I took advantage of the lovely weather we had in DC, and went for a hike with my 6-month old, my wife, and my sister through Rock Creek Park.

To all of you who also may have voluntarily not "been able to watch the game," what did you do instead?

Would love to hear some great stories. - TRO

P.S. #1 - My walk with the fam ended roughly about the same time the Skins' game did, and BOY, was I excited to see they had (finally) won. Thanks to all of you for recapping the game on the boards. Looking forward to the Skins stomping Dallas this week!!

P.S. #2 - If I had to do it all over again, I still would go on that walk with the little one. We tested out the new jogger for the first time, and it was so much fun!!!

No. I TiVo and watch every game. Even the KC one I accidentally saw the score before I watched the game and watched the whole thing knowing we were going to lose to a crappy team. I love watching Redskin games. I watch every play in glorious HD. I paid like $350 to do that this year (and last and before that...) and love that I never miss a game.

I'm totally serious. I haven't missed a play this season and the only way I will is if a thunderstorm prevents me from seeing the game on my Direct TV.

I go to Sunday afternoon Nationals games and there's usually one that is up against a Redskins game.

This year, it was the week of the Lions game.

I've watched just about every agonizing play. I missed half of this past Sunday's game because I was flying into town, but aside from that I've only accidentally missed a play or two, here and there.

I won't say I haven't been tempted to do something else with my time, though. I sometimes wonder whether I'd watch entirely us through a Lions-esque losing streak. I think I would, but even this year has (at times) tried my patience.

I watch every game. Every play. Every week. Period. I couldn't look myself in the mirror with my jersey on every Sunday if I didn't. I would have asked my wife to hold clench a little in labor (before DVR, of course) if it was during a Redskins game.

And as far as I know, CLL works on Sundays, but I'm sure he'll reply in time.

I was coaching my son's soccer game, so I didn't get to see the first half.

I often work on Sundays and DVR the games as well. Even if the team was winless, there are only 16 Redskins games a year and I would hate to miss any part of them.

I had a headache on the Monday Night Football game and I did not watch the 4th quarter. I have watched the rest. Not good for my heart rate or the liver ...

  We feel your pain bro!!!

I NEVER miss a game on purpose.. I just can't see it happening.. Skins game would be on my mind too much for that. Heck, I get ticked off when I have to run to the bathroom and miss a play!!!

Vet is correct, I work Sundays now. Depending on the shift I either can't watch the game or I sleep through half of it.

It's a mixed bag with me. I no longer skip events to watch the Skins, it's simply not worth it. As I've gotten older and learned to appreciate the small things in life, the Redskins simply are not worth missing out on a majority of my gatherings.

I just DVR the games, some I watch some I delete. Bahh...
