BRIAN ORAKPO IS A DEFENSIVE END..................PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why this joke of an organization can't see that is beyond me. He's leading all rookies in sacks and they have all come from his knuckles including the one today where he pushed through two OL....

He's playing d-end on important snaps. His getting experience as a LB will help him down the road.
For example, what if the new staff next yar runs a 3-4? He'll end up playing LB again.

Frankly, I agree that he should be playing D-end on all snaps.
The point that Gnome makes, however, is valid. There is very little in the way of technique that he needs to learn to be a good D-end. The time spent learning the linebacker position does not, in any way, hurt his development as a D-end, and because he will have a strong understanding of the role played by the linebackers and d-backs, it can, in fact, only help. This experience will make him a much better all around player, even if next year, he finally begins to spend all plays with his hand on the ground.
It's not as if placing him at DE for the rest of this year would change the outcome of the Redskins season.
I don't see this coaching staff being here next year. Let them decide what to do with this incredible potential... In the mean time, let him soak up all of the knowledge about the entire defense that he can.

Is this a team announcement? (If so, link?) Or was this thread meant to talk about how Orakpo needs to play DE permanently?
Edit: I've checked the headlines and am going to alter the title of this thread, since a lot of people check it for news and this is misleading.

Thanks for changing the title. I opened it and my heart was pounding in hopes of Vinny being canned. I was just about to put on my jacket to head home and call it a week.
