Cerrato states that Zorn will be here for rest of the year

Speaking on his weekly radio show Friday, Redskins GM Vinny Cerrato unequivocally endorsed Jim Zorn as the head coach for the rest of the season.
"Let me start by making a few things very perfectly clear," Cerrato said. "Jim Zorn is the head coach of the Washington Redskins and will for the rest of this season, and hopefully into the future." Cerrato also insisted that "the relationships internally within the organization quite frankly remain the same." It's going to be a long couple of months in the nation's capital.

I wonder if this has anything to do with everyone saying that if Zorn goes, Cerrato is going with him.

Honestly, I think this was more about what the players needed to hear. Not to mention there is really no one out there to take over.

this guy is nuts! He's talking like a crazy man! And why does it ALWAYS go back to his Super Bowl rings...which in all honesty, would of happened without him.
I really hope he's fired.

There is one upside. As of today, it looks like we know what's going to happen at least for the next few weeks.

Cerrato is a LIAR. He is full of you know what if he is trying to get everyone to believe that they don't want Zorn gone.

OH, it's total B.S. They've probably been oline reading sites like T.H.N. and saw how people were coming directly at Vinny & Danny. Not to mention they probably know that the stands are going to look like a Christmas tree (or for you p.c. people - a holiday tree b.s.) All green with spot's of red.

It will be an abysmal showing, but there will be more Skins fans there than EGirls fans. It won't be as bad as the PBurge game last year and that wasn't close to reaching 50% Steelers fans.
Funny post though!
But on topic, I think Cerrato may actually mean it, but that doesn't mean the midget won't throw Vinny under the bus and make a change anyway.
AND, please, please let JZ's future with the Skins be linked to Vinny's!!!!

Yeah, this reminds me of last season just before they traded for Jason Taylor. Cerrato has already proven he's willing to make bald face lies to the public. Don't know why he would expect anyone to believe him on this. Oh yeah, he has super bowl rings from when he was a water boy for the niners.

WOW Danny boy blinks...little late for a real vote of confidence...this is more damage control than anything.

they should "Strongly" suggest that Cerrrato be relieved of his personnel duties, and he should politely comply.

Just damage control - more BS from the midget and his yes-man!
I think that Snyder & Cerrato were hoping that Zorn would not take the demand to relinquish the play calling and resign, which he probably should have done. By announcing that he would continue as HC, Zorn basically thwarted their plans and IMO showed them up. This caused Snyder to realize that he was going to have to ride this out because nobody in the NFL thinks that the best move for the team right now is to fire Zorn, especially after he was perceived as being forced to resign or lose the play calling duties he was originally brought here for.
Zorn is gone and rightfully so - he is not ready to be a HC IMO and he was not prepared to handle the setup here (is anybody?)
we also need for Cerrato to be let go and I think that is an obvious move for Snyder
then comes the interesting part, how does Snyder end up looking good and staying involved with the team?
We all know he will 'engineer' something that will have the Redskins' faithful believing that success is just around the corner

Yeah. My first thought was "OK, this is something positive."
Then, with about 30 seconds reflection, I thought, "what losers." A day late and a dollar short. If they are so convinced Zorn was HC where was that mentality 3-4 weeks ago?
And this is also where Snyder / Cerrato's reputations really come back to bite them. Does anyone here at THN
not suspect that they could be lying at any given time? That, to me, speaks volumes about their character and ability to handle situations with maturity and wisdom. It is impossible to have any confidence that Snyder is acting with the team's best interests in mind, and it's certainly not beyond him to outright
lie if he sees an advantage in it. That's the most infuriating thing about it all.

I guessing a buyout is in the works ala SS and we'll see Zorn resign.

It's not hard to pick up the stench from this steaming pile.

I hope you mean to say that he WILL get fired. Somebody referred to it above as the KISS OF DEATH. It is.
But if Jim goes, so does arrive another marketing opportunity to give the new guy a "new chance" to prove what he can do. The bigger the name, the better.
Mark these words: many posters will walk in support of the "new hope" no matter that only things on name would have changed.

No because that is the only team he has never lost to and had beaten more than once. You can't be a rival if you always beat that team.
Just, kidding! He should be fired just for that statement.
Oh, wait Vinny said he was safe the rest of the year, well I guess he is good!
