According to ESPN 980 ... said that Sherm Lewis has expressed ... he'd like to call his first game with Todd Collins at QB rather than Jason Campbell

How much more of a sad comedy can it get?

Just 48 hours ago Zorn had confirmed that HIS call was for JC to start against the Eagles. How much of a lame duck of a coach do we show to everybody in the world that we have. He does not call his plays or decides who calls them. Now, he cannot even decide who plays and who does not??? !!!

DIGNITY !!!

How many millions is it worth to you Jim??? The FO is pushing Jim Zorn to the ultimate ridicule in front of the entire NFL and the public to compel him to resign and save the money remaining in his contract.

I said this in another thread and that JZ is now officially here for the money. I cannot blame him even though he is looking like a fool for staying. What is JZ's role? As far as I can tell he doesn't have one. Snyder needs to fire him and give him his money so everyone can move on.

Question...does Zorn lose money if he resigns or doesn't do what he is told??

Why would he agree to Lewis calling plays and if he's told to start Collins...I still believe it was DS who pulled JC and I can see Zorn say fine I'n starting him Monday Night...this is just geting embrassing now!!

From what I heard on the radio, if he resigns then he forfeits the remaining amount of money owed to him on his contract. If he gets fired then Snyder is forced to pay him out the rest of the guaranteed money on his contract. It seems to me that Zorn is doing anything he can to collect the guaranteed money that is owed to him. Right now he is swallowing his pride to help secure his financial future. Make of it what you will, but if I am making millions of dollars and someone is taking away my responsibilities then I am going to see it through to the end. Even if I look like a fool in the meantime.

I think the only person who looks stupid is Dan Snyder & Vinny Cerrato. Everyone understands that you can't blame Jim Zorn. He was ecstatic to be the O.C. and then got the icing on the cake. What coach wouldn't take that job. So he was put in a situation where there was little to no way he could succeed and that was done by Vinny and Danny. So I'm not going to blame him for holding them to the contract they committed to. I can only applaud Jim for holding them to the contract. He's the one who comes out looking smart - Not Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb.

while I agree that Zorn is looking really bad here, there is another way to look at this - some might look at Zorn's tenure here and understand that he was not given the right players and that he was not given the best 'support' to get the job done ... just saying

this is a joke - you cannot make this stuff up - most of my friends think it's a huge grin that my team is in such disarray and has been for a while now

we still have 10 games to go here and the biggest worry, to me, is that Snyder might get rid of everyone but the root case of all this stuff, himself - anyone who thinks this team will become competitive again with Snyder having anything to do with the management of the team is kidding themselves and deserves the same ridicule that Snyder is due

I'm thoroughly disgusted with the treatment Zorn is receiving from this punk front office of Dumb and Dumber. And I'm thoroughly impressed with the elegant manner in which Zorn is handling the situation.

Personally, it seems pretty clear to me that Zorn is a bit over his head, BUT, he's a really cool dude, and the players really like him ... and I think most of the fans do to. He's honest .. tells it straight .. has never shied away from being open to the media, and somewhere along the way, with a bit more experience, he'll become a fine coach. And he's done NOTHING to deserve this type of disrespect.

This is just another Snyder/Cerrato bungle job all the way. First they hire him as the OC (and who in the world hires assistant coaches before hiring a HC?). Then they name him HC without the experience level one would reasonably expect a potential HC to bring to the table.

Now, after 1 1/3 years, they publicly castrate and humiliate him in front of the media, players, fans. Just the lowest of the low blows from that half pint billionaire punk.

I've defended Snyder at times in the past ... but he's blackened every eye, and broken every bone of this proud and respected franchise, and at this point I cannot imagine ANYONE agreeing to work for this little caesar wannabe.

Give Zorn his money, and let him go Snyder!!! YOU hired him. If he's so bad, LOOK IN THE MIRROR if you want to blame someone.

And to Zorn ... don't give in ... take it on the chin. Let that little tyrant continue to make an utter arse out of himself, and show the world what a petty little man he is.

Everyone needs to understand that Zorn is showing some real class here ... not weakness. He's telling Snyder "I'm not going to quit ... you're going to have to fire me".

Although, I'm not sure how much more he can take. If it were me, I'd probably be in jail for kicking the "you know what" out of that little punk and his yes man.

Ray I agree with you and we could see some very ugly things Monday night...buy all accounts Zorn still had the team...all the quotes from players I have read about Lewis calling the plays seem negative...

DeHog, that too is my impression. But how in the world can a struggling team focus on preparing for a game like this under this environment?

The better question might be .. how did this ignoramus ever become a Billionaire in the first place?

It wouldn't surprise me if Snyder hasn't already coached the PA announcer to holler "Bingo" after each score .. if we actually do score.

I will be the odd one. I will disagree with the tone of this statement:

I do not feel that BOTH parties, the dumb and dumber dynamic duo in our Front Office, on one side, -and- Jim Zorn, on the other, look any good whatsoever.

Jim Zorn is allowing his name to be ridiculed to whatever extent to be fired at the expense of the morale of the team. Dan Snyder and V. Cerrato are ridiculing the Head Coach to whatever extent it takes in order to compel him to resign ALSO at the expense of the morale of the team.

This is about MONEY !!!! It is not about accountability or the improvement of our team !!! Both parties are taking actions in detriment of the team to gain or save a few millions !!! Dignity and self-esteem, whether personal or institutional, are far more important than any amount of money.

Snyder is the owner. And he's the one that hired Zorn ... he engaged in a contract with Zorn for 3 years, and Zorn is committed to seeing it through. Why should Zorn resign just to allow Snyder to screw him out of over half of his agreed to pay?

You're right, it is about money (for Snyder) .. and I think it's about principle for Zorn. And I think Zorn is fully justified in not permitting Snyder to brow beat him publicly and profit from it.

If Snyder had a modicum of class, he'd cut him loose, and not publicly humiliate a decent man. It goes along the same lines as suing season ticket holders.

Very true but if you’re Zorn you have to get paid...what job is he going to get after this...I have always stated this isn't the place to "start" your coaching career. And Zorn did agree to coach under the current set up of the team. I'm sure he had some advice to the contrary.

I would love to see a former coach (including Zorn) come forward and give us the truth about this org.

Does Danny put gag orders in contracts??

We will agree to disagree on this one. It is about money for BOTH. Period.

Zorn will be fired. He will get his money. But Dan Snyder is making sure that the price of the rest of his contract sticks to him like skunk smell for many years to come.

Yes, Dan Snyder is known to have produced contracts with compensation packages for former employees with this condition of silence (or your money back in terms of a legal action!). Some of these contracts were offered to those who were downsized as recently as the past offseason from the marketing branch of Front Office.

Zorn can easily get another job in the league. It will probably be a QB coach. I would be surprised to see him get an O Cord. position after he leaves here just based off the lack of offensive production and we know he won't be a HC.

Here's what I don't get. If Zorn is positioning himself to keep the money, why meet Snyder half-way on ANY of this? If it was me, I'd take the 'RiC' route and say "Sorry, Danny, but I'm calling the plays, and Campbell is starting this week. Fire me if you want, but as long as I'm HC we're going to do things my way on Sunday. I'm just trying to do my best to win. And as long as I'm the coach, that's exactly what I'm going to do."

Going from $25 mil to hundreds of millions is still very impressive. I don't think we should underestimate his ability to run a profitable business simply because he can't run a football team. My 2 cents
