Today’s Storyline

Goal standard – After starting one of the first three games of the season goaltender Jose Theodore has grabbed the reins in the last three straight. While they haven’t been Capitals’ wins, you can hardly blame the Montreal native in net. Theodore has produced a .930 save percentage in his four starts this season and was spectacular at times last night against New Jersey , never better than on a sprawling stop of Zach Parise in overtime. On the season, Theodore’s .908 save percentage ranks fifth in the NHL among goaltenders who have started at least four games.

Credit Jose for putting in net work in the offseason to secure at least half of this season's starts.

If he continues his solid goaltending we should be in good shape for the season.

Like any player he will lay some eggs from time to time.

Caps have to be more aggressive with the lead, and stay hungry.

The late penalties must be driving Boudreau insane.

San Jose on Thursday. Rock the Red.

Theo is definately playing some good hockey. If he had some support, he would make it look easy.

The man was parctically standing on his head to make saves last night.

I can think of no man that deserves to have a great season more than Theodore. After going through the pain of losing a child in the offseason, to come out and play the way he has been playing; he has turned my sympathies into sincere respect.
