Prediction for the remainder of the season

I predict that the Skins will win 10 games I think that they will discard the apathy demon and begin to win games. They will beat the Bucs, Chiefs, Raiders, Broncos, Eagles (split), Cowboys (split), Saints, Panthers, and Chargers. They will lose to the Eagles once, Cowboys once, and the Giants, but the divisional record might keep them out of the playoffs (2-4). Additionally, the conference record will be another factor that may keep them out. Atlanta, NO, Minnesota, NYG, Chicago, and Cowboys will make the playoffs. I know that this is premature, but we can only dream because that's what the team seems to be doing every Sunday (dreaming).

You said cowboys...and you lost me.

I'll stick to my 7-9 prediction...Of course I had them beating the Lions so they're going to have to beat someone I thought they'd lose to.

I'm optimistic @ 9-7. Maybe they'll turn it around just in time to barely miss the playoffs.

Did you see him against South Carolina?
Talk about under-impressive!

Totally agree. He looked horrendous against SC. Looked like a deer in headlights out there. I'd much rather see us trade up for Bradford or Clausen, assuming we pick in the middle of round 1, and do not resign Campbell.

I love the optimism. But let me ask you this. Would you bet $1000 the Skins will win ten games this season?

I wouldn't bet $1000 that the sun's coming up tomorrow, so no.

6-10...Scoring woes will be the ultimate achilles for this team
Defense bounces back and blaches gets aggressive ...Offensive line will systematically fall aprt and Campbell continues his TD production
or lack there of

I like the little aside where you downgrade Campbell. Several people think he will lead us to the playoffs but he has not done anything with Gibbs or Zorn. He just doesn't have the intangibles to be a starting qb in the NFL.

I still think the team wins 7 or 8 games and picks about 12th or 13th in the draft - I have felt this since just before the pre-season started and is based on the fact that we continue to add talented players and coaches but not necessarily players or coaches that suit each other or the plan for success if there really is a plan
We are going to continue to be a mediocre team while people with little to no NFL management ability continue to manage this team
I do think it is an amazingly easy schedule for this team that we can possibly be playing against teams for the first 7 games that have not won a game

I was way more optimistic, even after the Giants game. I thought 10-6 would be easy, given the first half schedule.
Now ... now I see Haynesworth limping after 2 1/2 games, and Orakpo being misused, and still no pass rush from a d-line that was supposed to be this team's overwhelming strength.
I see an offense that looks way too much like the offense that helped achieve a 2-6 finish last year, with more blah, blah, blah masquerading as a plan to fix it.
I see a team that quit last week, and a team that's just as likely to go 4-12 this year as it might manage 8-8.
And it PAINS ME to say this. But, Blache's solution to last week's problems had better include more than benching Horton. If he doesn't find a way to get Arakpo rushing the passer, and keeps playing the CBs 10 yards off the line on 3rd and 4, he ought to be benching himself.

If you're going to fantasize, why not 14-2 .. Campbell MVP of the Super Bowl.

I'm gonna disagree and go out on a limb and say someone from the west will get in

Beating on if the Skins would win ten games is different than making a prediction. I would not put money down because the season is long and too many variables can factor into winning games and losing games. A prediction is an opinion nothing more nothing less. In 1991 would you put a thousand dollars on the Skins winning the Super-Bowl/or winning 14 games probably not. Beating money has nothing to do with predicting a team success or not.

MVP of the league.
He will be inducted into the pro football hall of fame by 2012. He will be so spectacular that they will grant him a waiver and permit IMMEDIATE induction after winning 54 straight games, averaging 40 points and 5 passing TD per game, and winning 3 SBs. He will be known for his impressive leadership, quick release, deep passing bombs (while maintaining a short passing touch), his sweet mustache, and all around electifying offense.
In reality, if I were to make a prediction for this year (and I had to put money on it): 6-10.

He had a bad game...it happens to everybody. Besides, Snead is going to go higher in the draft than Claussen.

Unless a couple of huge changes are made in play calling and/or unexpected help comes for the OL, we'll struggle to win four or five games. By the way, I expect the D to step it up immediately when Horton's sitting. His replacement was sensational in pre-season and I don't think it was an accident.

we go 6-10. What about that Locker kid from Washington.

If they can find a way to fix the RedZone problems I think they win 10 games...if they don't they'll be lucky to win 5 games. I think the D starts playing like we all thought they would at Tampa Bay.
